I am not sure if this is a proper question, if not let me know and I will delete: I have been thinking that how Adam and Sauli are seen by gay people, are they, or one of them, considered generally attractive men, like we women here in Atop pretty single minded seem to think? I have got an impression, that Adam is not seeing himself that beautiful, but seem to appriciate how Sauli looks like (obviously:). I suppose this is a proper question since it's an Adam forum I can't speak for every gay man but I think they're gorgeous for what it's worth. Adam is firmly in the "gay second" category. By that I mean he tries not to let his life revolve around it, and I'm the same. It's the mindset of "it's just a sexuality". There's a lot of gay guys who are "gay first" though, spend their life shouting loud and proud that they're gay from the rooftops, campaigning for rights, hitting back at homophobes and very conservative people for example. That's fine but people like me and Adam don't get too deep into it. Sure he made the It Gets Better video and Outlaws of Love but for the main part he just puts it on the side and leaves it to other people, because he's happy in his own sexuality, believes that in the grand scheme of things sexuality doesn't even matter that much, and prefers to just stick to the music. Sadly lots of the "gay first" people don't like that kind of attitude, they see it as a "betrayal" of sorts. Quite sad really :( this is sort of what i meant when i said i was a bit surprised adam responded the way he did considering he advocates post gay. (Adam basically agreeing the "community" is resistant.) Do you see an age correlation to gay 1 and gay 2? I don't really see an age correlation. I've never met any of "gay 2" here though, seems to mainly be a thing in the US where those problems I mentioned are more prominent.

I must be on the noseteam, that is definitely, and very obviously NOT Adam's nose, or lips, for that matter. Did.not.fool.me.

I finally have an Adam story! Last weekend I went to a tourist town to shop for some clothes for burning man. (Tombstone, gun fight at OK corral and all that) There was an older man busking and I asked him to play "Whiskey River", only country song I could think of. It seemed to please him that I asked for an old song and we struck up a conversation. He was disgruntled at current country music, Taylor Swift anyone, I agreed and mentioned on the pop scene that currently only Adele and Adam could really sang. He really came alive at the mention of Adam and even knew a couple of songs. Who would of thought that an ole Texas country boy who used to play in Texas honky-tonks would know ADAM! Love this kind of story!!

Interesting discussion. To be honest, it was never Adam's voice that won me over. Adam's voice legitimizes my admiration, lol, if that makes any sense, and adds to it, of course, but I have always liked plenty of musical performers with questionable or at the very least odd voices, so that's definitely not a requirement. What made me fall for Adam from the first moment I caught a glimpse of him performing Satisfaction on Idol as I was channel surfing (never having been a regular watcher before) was that out-of-this-world performance charisma. That ownership of his audience. Yep, I was totally owned. I found it mesmerizing. And yeah, vocal talent is a part of that charisma, but so is charm, and humor (especially humor--this is so big a part of my love for Adam), and chutzpah, and sex appeal, and poise, and intelligence, and oddness, and that it-factor--who knows where the hell it lies--that generations of ad-men have tried in vain to bottle and sell. In my mind, the spectacular voice is the tool that enables him to best spend all these other riches in his deep artistic pockets. But yeah, I fell for the performer first. So it was a really wonderful surprise to find that his own musical tastes, as a performer and as a writer, so frequently (though not infallibly, and I wouldn't have it so) matched mine. I love the pop-funk-electro-dance direction he's taken with Trespassing. I couldn't be happier. And to be honest, if Adam had put out an album full of Time for Miracles, and then another, I would not continue to stan him in such a way. I would look forward to his live performances, but I probably would eventually stop buying the recorded music. Because for me the voice itself is not enough--I'm a complete-package kind of shopper. So major props and a squeeze of sympathy to those of you hanging in despite divergent musical tastes for the love of the voice. I'm glad there is something in this wonderful man for all of us! I am on team midwifespal. I thought he was cute! (Good start for me) He could really sing...but it was the performance package that took me to fandom. I for one...was not really into the glitter and feathers. I wondered if he was going to sink into "current pop", as he kept saying that it was his listening wheel house. AI, plus pre-idol youtubes took me into the passion range...and ...I stick with Adam just because I really like him, and he has the ability to really engage me.

You know that pic of Adam walking on water? One of my all time favorites. So, I searched the net to find the highest resolution and ordered a poster made from Walmart. 20x30. Walmart warned me that the resolution was too low, but I told the computer I wanted it anyway. Well, it came today in the mail, and it is stunning. And only $20 for printing and shipping. Great price. If anyone is contemplating doing the same, I say "go for it."
But, the cheap poster frame I was able to find does not do it justice. It really needs a quality mat and a solid frame. So, am I gonna fork over $100 or more to frame it like it should be framed? Hmmmm. Me thinks that resistance is futile. I'll probably capitulate and take it to a custom frame shop. Damn! This rabbit hole is deep.
