gbam, the easiest way to answer your question is with the answer, "It's just politics." No one knows why! I will say that I don't see much originality in the thinking of radio PDs. They seem to be sheep, just following one another! I do have an answer to the Carly Rae Jepson question though! Her song has been out a while in Canada and was big. It did not get any play here until the Beibs did a You Tube of it.

rihannsu, I think you just answered a question that was posted in the news thread. Yeah, I had seen it but didn't remember where it was to go back and quote it.

My theory on RCA saying he has sold just under two million worldwide is that when you take his single sales and convert to "track equivalent albums", which the labels are taking in to account more and more, he really probably is close to two million worldwide. AS OF 1/29/2011 WORLDWIDE SALES 4.2MIL. in Single tracks and 1.2MIL So convert singles 4,200,000 divide by 10 for track equivalent albums = 420,000 Add album sales 1,200,000 = 1,620,000 So as of 15 months ago that was 1.6 million The footnote on that page referenced above indicates Adam's total is from 2/28/2012 and reports US only track sales at 4.556. Near as I can figure his US only singles total at the end of January 2011 was around 3.5 million so about 1 million more US singles for and additional 100,000 track equivalent albums giving us a best guess to date of about 1.7 million minimum which the would have no problem stating as close to 2 million and remember this is not including the worldwide single sales from the last 15 months. This makes sense to say that his first album sold 2 millions. Thanks for the breakdown Rihannsu! Yeah, It's all politics! If Burno sang NCOE, we would hear it all over the stations right now. C'mom his most boring song "Lazy song" was a big hit, so I don't see why NCOE wouldn't be a hit compare to that song. ...it's gonna feel like this in the coming days..

OMG tigerlily! You are hilarious! I am literally ROTFLMAO! Thanks for the laughs today. I needed that. ;D ;D ;D I don't see this posted here. bit.ly/hOM0tlAmerican Idol Alumni Single Sales. Adam has taken over 5th place. Rank Artist Season Total 01 Kelly Clarkson 1 (1st) 22,150,000[1]c 02 Carrie Underwood 4 (1st) 20,840,000[1]c 03 Daughtry 5 (4th) 11,902,000[2] 04 Jordin Sparks 6 (1st) 9,833,000[2] 05 Adam Lambert 8 (2nd) 4,556,000[2] 06 David Cook 7 (1st) 4,352,000[2] JazzRocks, what a lovely little ray of sunshine you bring to the thread with this tasty morsel. So nice to see him "top" Cook and rank in the top 5. No matter what happens with this radio spin bs, after the dust settles, he will IMO end up being one of the most successful Idols in the history of the show. He will rake in millions with single and album sales, headlining world-wide, sold-out concert tours, performing with Queen, etc. Adam will be laughing all the way to the bank and he will be strutting as he does so wearing his expensive medges, looking like the gorgeous freakin' rock god that he is. Keep the faith peeps!!! Doesn't matter how he gets in -- front door, back door, side door or garage door -- he WILL be gettin' it in.....

Hah, Brian missed Stefano's song because he forgot that Stefano dropped his last name. He just added the numbers to his post.
Stefano feat. New Boyz & Rock Mafia, I'm On a Roll (20,000, debut, 20,000)

It is a cute teenage song sand by a cute teenage girl. The video is cute, too. The song is BIG BIG in Canada, has been out for months and is being played on Canadian radio ad nauseam. Some songs just cross the border like this.

A thousand YES to your last paragraph. Radio wld be all over that song now if it was released by Mars. I am sure the label and Adam are trying to play the dirty game of radio by giving them a Mars' song. If they end up not playing, it wld be obvious to all watching the problem is with the singer after all.
