Also, we have been wondering what Kris sold Idol week, so here are his numbers. Kris Allen, The Vision of Love (7,000 weekly, 21,000 release-to-date) I kept hearing how great this song was, the best of all the recent idol singles, so surprised it is not doing better. Especially after an Idol appearance. I can't seem to get myself to listen to it.

I actually don't know if Bieber's youtube sparked the interest in this song in USA. It is a cute teenage song sand by a cute teenage girl. The video is cute, too. The song is BIG BIG in Canada, has been out for months and is being played on Canadian radio ad nauseam. Some songs just cross the border like this. Unfortunatly, she is no teenager, but a 27 years old lady! Google her if in doubt. Thanks, she is. That shows how much interested I was in Canadian idol. But she sure looks like a teenager. Her age does not change the fact the the song is hugely popular with the Canadian radio and becomes popular in US.

Even though I think Adam will get a better bump from Idol than 7K, as well as sell some albums, it concerns me how NCOE has plummeted on iTunes. I'm hoping that CHR PD's don't use the sales numbers as an excuse to not play it. I think it will do okay on HAC, but I'm still not convinced of CHR success which drive the sales. I've just never been a fan of NCOE as the second single cause I think, like BTIKM, could keep him trapped in that HAC format bubble, which is where radio seems to want to put him.

Hi guys- I have a few questions about requesting on the MediaBase Forms: 1) Does it matter whether or not you fill out all of the demographics info? They only require Name, but I usually fill out my zip code and name and sometimes my email address. I've added my real age (40) in the past...don't know if that's stored somewhere so I don't think I can fudge it now! 2) Is it better to add few songs in addtion to Adam? Sometimes I add addtional songs I like. I think it's unlikely that your age is stored somewhere that anyone is paying attention to. Personally I like to include my zip and city because it shows I'm local. I also add additional songs because it shows I'm interested in several songs on their playlist, i.e. I'm a real listener.

See, there is no guarantee that if your preferred single choice was picked, it wld be performing better on iTunes right now. And normally songs without constant play on the radio with a reasonable AI plummets oniTunes all the time. Like I said earlier, there are loads of songs currently charting in the 20s on POP without good iTunes sales. I can give a link to the chart if you wld like to make the comparisons. Songs sell with radio play unless you re Bieber that sells w/out radio. I wld rather want us as fans to support the single and put on hold our personal single preferences as doing so increases the chances of hearing our own single choice. If this succeeds, there re better chances of having more singles is what I mean. Thanks.

I just think we would have seen much better single sales if they had just released a song that was much more popular with the fans, A lot of his own fans didn't buy NCOE cause they just didn't like it.

I just think we would have seen much better single sales if they had just released a song that was much more popular with the fans, A lot of his own fans didn't buy NCOE cause they just didn't like it. Honestly there is no way of knowing this unless you interviewed all his fans. A small circle of some fans one is familiar with does not constitute all his fans. There is a reason why generalizing is a no no. The truth be told, NCOE was my least fav. of the sampled snippet, but I totally understand the sentiment behind picking it. Unlike your own experience with some of his fans, how about considering most of his fans on my own feed saying, even thou it might not be their fav, they completely understand Adam desperately needs a hit song and they understand why the label chose it. Didn't Adam himself say that was the preferred radio song picked by some pds. As crazily in love with Mars the PDs are, honestly if radio does not make this even a moderate hit, it would be obvious that that song you think is popular with fans that wld have made him smash wldn't have been. This is becos it wld have been the first Mars song sang by himself or given to another artist that has not smashed. And Mars smashes not just on HAC, but always almost regularly sits atop CHR too no matter how boring that song might be. Also it is not true that picking what is popular with most of his fans assuming there is any thing like that wld have given him a hit. He does not have as big a fan base like Gaga or Bieber. At the height of his popularity, his post Idol first single sold around 40.000 units, and soon crashed out of iTunes afterwards. Honestly, casual fans make or break artists and until his music is exposed to them, I think it is unfair to jump to any conclusion.

I do fudge my age a little (just in case LOL). But I request locally so I think it's important to add zip code. And I always request 2 or 3 more songs.

Morning iTunes EST

NCOE Pop 321. Never Close Our Eyes - Adam LambertThursday, May 03, 2012 7:26 AM
BTIKM Pop 379. Better Than I Know Myself - Adam LambertThursday, May 03, 2012 7:26 AM
Looking back at the records I've been keeping I would say that both of the songs are off the top 1000. The way the #'s were running by the time you get down to #300 on the Pop chart you are right at the bottom of the top #1000 so I would say NCOE is hover probably right off the bottom with BTIKM a good bit further down. They may only be 50-60 positions away from each other on Pop but the further down the chart you go the larger the spead on the overall #'s. IIHY got as high as #319 on Pop when NCOE was released but never managed to break on to the overall top 1000.
Hot 100 thread at pulse Thursday AI update ADAM LAMBERT - Never Close Our Eyes: 2.141
