All I'm saying is there are a ton of other VERY talented musicians, singers and arrangers involved in these performances. The background singers sound good because they are professionals who have had years upon years of training and also had experience singing for and touring with a Grammy winning artist. Adam is great at what he does, but he didn't walk in and suddenly make these two women, who have countless years of experience, "sound good". That seems dismissive to these two talented vocalists. Not to mention, Brian London who worked with these two ladies before Adam ever entered the building. Brian must be pretty good at what he does, or the BIG names like Bruno, Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry wouldn't have used him. Adam is lucky to have him! Adam didn't make them who they are in two days anymore than he made Sasha a great dancer. She came in being an amazing dancer and excelled before and after the tour. There are other people who are talented outside of Adam. So Adam adds nothing to the equation? Anyone could have put this particular group together, and it would have come together just as beautifully had any singer paying their salaries just walked in and sang? I think there's a middle ground here. Didn't say that in any way! There is a middle ground, THAT was my point! There are other extremely talented people in this equation. There was no reason to dismiss their talent and years of professional experience.

Wow. Such a big misunderstanding here to cassie's answer to my question about the background singers! Perhaps the whole thing should have been brought over from last night instead of just part?! :-/ Cassie DID say they are really good and that Adam found them because he has DEEP connections in LA. One of those being Brian! Seems to me you are all saying the same thing but arguing about it!

A friend asked me the other day what genre Trespassing was. I didn't know what to tell them :-[ I like that he doesn't fit any one place Never boring I would describe Adam as enlightened pop, with some serious funk and dance party music thrown in. Adam's voice is capable of many styles, so he can slip unexpected twists of his voice in places that other singers keep bland.

Lee Cherry @leecherry Reply Retweet Favorite ·More Scarlett Cherry Feat. Alisan Porter: Sleep Until You Dream: youtu.be/YhQq96gk8R0 via @youtube Retweeted by @negativeneil This song is so lovely. It's only the second or third one I've heard from the CD, and it's the first one I've really liked. I wondered if Neil would tweet a link to the video since I saw in the YouTube info that he was an AD on the shoot. I didn't know that people thought Neil suggested the backup singers. I know that he was on the tour with Jill Scott last summer, but Keisha and Octavia didn't sing backup on that tour. At the Jill Scott show that I attended, all of her backup singers were male. I think the ladies are doing a wonderful job and the whole band is jelling terrifically with Adam. I hope I can hear them all live sometime with my own ears. Yay, so glad that Terrance will be in the NCOE video! I was hoping that he would be!

I love them and never want them to leave. But I assume that everyone except for Adam is replaceable at all times and that is the reality, so I try not to get too attached to anyone except Adam. He is difficult enough for me to keep up with!

I completely disagree with the part in bold One would expect that any LA professional would be technically proficient, dedicated to their craft, and skilled or they wouldn't still working in LA. Competition is FIERCE and I assume that anyone who is actually making a long-term career as a paid singer there is extremely talented. Its a given. Nothing dismissive in the slightest. However, the alchemy involved in bringing something from technically proficient to transcendent is different, and involves not only the folk in the back, but the leader out front. Think in the difference in live television performances when Lisa (the original keyboardist) was playing for Adam versus Ke$ha. Lisa is a fantastic musician (and IMO probably the best 'classic' player he's had - incredibly skilled pianist). But the difference in the two overall PERFORMANCES had to do with Adam and Ke$ha. There is absolutely no denying Lisa's skills. But she, herself, does not "make" a performance. She can potentially break it by performing badly, but as a supporting person cannot not "make" it. The person who does the final assembly and takes on the ultimate responsibility of bringing all the skilled pieces together to create the holistic whole is the one who "makes" a performance. And in an Adam Lambert performance, that person/leader is Adam Lambert. There is a difference in giving Adam all the credit for certain things (such as arranging music) and saying he is a solo artist and the band, singers, etc. work for him. Why are the background singers good? Because they came in being good. They have been in this exact environment and working with each other for years. It's not like they didn't know what they were doing, but walked into Adam's "band" for two weeks and POOF, they are NOW amazing. I'm just trying to give credit where credit is due. These two ladies sounded good because THEY are good. They are good at what they do. Sasha and Terrance were good dancers, because they are good, they are excellent dancers. (Sasha did pretty darn good on SYTYCD) Brian is a well respected musician and director because he has proven himself over the years to be excellent. Exactly -- and isn't it great that Adam is now at a point where he can call on these people to collaborate.
