I had never known a gay person personally. I wasn't "anti" but I just didn't get it. It took knowing Adam to get it. Then his love story really solidified it for me. But we all come from different places and we shouldn't feel bad for where we are in the process of life.I think everyone here is changed in some way because of Adam. There are so many messages to learn from him. One of them is complete acceptance of things that are different from you. I would be willing to bet that there are more fans here that have learned and grown from this message, than could say they haven't. My nomination for Post of the Day. Adam has helped me change soooo much about me and my life it's unbelievable! I don't really care how silly it sounds to people who don't understand anymore....why, does a person that has THIS kind of efffect on my life have to be someone I know, personally, that I see on a daily basis or so? I don't even know how to explain it to people, so I usually don't because they just have their mindless comments. (meaning people I see everyday lol not people on here He's an amazing human being.

I think it is important to remember is that there is a large number of people who read individual posts and nod, laugh, cheer, and, even align themselves with certain a-top members BUT who never verbalize this. There are tons of lurkers ( having been one myself for quite a while) so even if no one responds to your post (or even if you get a negative response) it doesn't mean it wasn't noticed or even agreed upon. In fact, now that I am not a lurker, I still let lots of great posts go unmentioned because of time or simply because there are too many to single out. The best days are ones in which I have to take time to process the ideas here so I am not posting at all, support or not. I've read a lot of "come back ame, we don't have to agree" messages but I want to take that one step further. I think there needs to be an acknowledgement that you are not different. It was brave of you to admit that you have some homophobic history on a fan site for a gay man and I am sure there were some who may have been unable to relate. But I would be willing to bet that there are more people who are, themselves, in a process of evolving in one way or another. I myself come from a religiously homophobic mother and I had never known a gay person personally. I wasn't "anti" but I just didn't get it. It took knowing Adam to get it. Then his love story really solidified it for me. But we all come from different places and we shouldn't feel bad for where we are in the process of life. Evergreen and Irish I just saw your posts up thread. I agree post of the day...so here you go: In my opinion

Just when I post something about how it isn't necessary to have people respond to your posts--then I get reminded how nice it is to be acknowledged!!! There are so many of you I "notice" on a regular basis, too many to name, and not just the frequent posters either. And really, it is usually the person with a different idea than mine that I most appreciate. So, YAY for everyone!

The backup singers on the AI tour were also very good, very professional and had years of experience and yet did not mesh worth shit with Adam in my opinion but then he didn't get to pick them did he. Adam's choices are as much a reason that the back up singers compliment his voice as the actual talent of the singers. If he doesn't make the right choice then the performance suffers. The first step in the creation of that beautiful performance was hiring the right people and that is what Cassie was pointing out as Adam's contribution. Why is this so hard to understand? Exactly!!! There are TWO PARTS to your statement. Now, what percentage people want to give to each is up to the individual- but you still at least MENTIONED that these two professionals were talented. Why is it so hard to understand that a sentence or two acknowledging that the people involved might actually bring something to the table might be respectful of their talent? When the question is asked "Why do the back-up singers sound so good with Adam" and not ONE WORD is mentioned about their years of working together as a team (which can be attributed to Jill Scott or her MD for matching these voices in the first place, not Adam) or the fact that Brian worked with these ladies for days before Adam arrived, I don't think it is that far off base to bring up that it's not all Adam! WTF?! Cassie said more than ONE word! She said "deep connections" "Talented people" "voices he wants without doing auditions." She mentioned all of this in her reply. Did you read the whole thing? Just because she didn't mention Jill Scott? Acknowleding the talent on that stage is exactly what her reply said. She also acknowledged that there has to be a vision of the artist to put it all together. The "days" before Adam arrived, BTW, was 2. Friday and Sat. Adam started on Sunday. The band and ladies didn't even know the songs. And the old band did the same, thing. They also rehearsed without Adam. I'm sure Brian has a big say in how the music is arranged but, sorry. I don't see anyway he is the major force over Adam. Just no! And I am obviosuly getting upset so I am taking a couple hour break. Hope the penis discussion is back when I get back!

When someone says "why don't you/they get it" or "why is this so difficult to understand" or "what is wrong with those cray-crays" you are attacking others' taste and/or intelligence. The emphasis has moved from the opinion or dissension of the speaker to the taste or intelligence of the other. I am sure that is not what was meant but it sure is what often gets heard. jmho :-) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS
