Amazon does not mean a whole lot. We are not talking about a ton of albums here.
The single needs to catch on in order to give the album legs. Cook opened with 46K and then fell each week until it dropped right off the chart because he had no presence on radio. I am willing to give the song more time; we haven't even hit the adds the date yet. If we get a week or two into June and Z100 isn't on board then I will worry.

I thought it was iTunes which doesn't account for a lot....isn't Amazon a better indicator of shifted units? (more people buy physical albums)? Oh I dunno.....sure am impressed with Carrie's sales though. WOW!

I wouldn't worry about NCOE at this point. I mean it has almost another 3 weeks before it even goes to adds. Keep in mind also that there is no Kelly Clarkson Stronger type song on this album, so it is not going to get 100 or even 50 adds in a week and shoot to the top of the charts. I believe all the tracks on Trespassing will be slow builders, because for a number of reason and not so much the quality of the music. I for one have zero worries that Adam will end up getting dropped like Cook or most likely like Kris Allen will. He is original, exciting, continues to grow, remain current, is very marketable outside the USA, and most importantly is a draw in live concerts!

NAL is next on the chopping block. RCA threw him out there to sink or swim and he's sinking fast. I'm a little worried about Adam's NCOE single. It's moving so slowly once again. I hope pop stations get on board soon. His album is so phenomenal and needs a hit single so people will buy the album. I worry too much! Guess I'll go mow the lawn. I worry about NCOE also. Maybe we really worry if it is still not doing well after the Idol performance. As for NAL, I had checked on one of his fan sites that tracks his spins for TVOL, and someone gave an excellent analysis on why the song isn't going anywhere on radio. She gave many different reasons but it all boiled down to that it is out of the top 40 8 weeks after its add date (10 weeks since it was sent to radio) and that person could not think of any "hit" that was doing that poorly at the same point in time. PM me if you want the link, it was quite interesting. Me want link. ;D Thanks!!

Looks like I was in the ball park on my estimate for NCOE 2nd week sales. The numbers today let us fill in the blank. Chart Date Wks Sales TW Sales LW Total Sales 2012/05/05 1 29,000 -------- 29,000 (Brian Mansfield) 2012/05/12 2 5,500 29,000 34,500 (Brian Mansfield) 2012/05/19 3 2,500 5,500 37,000 (Brian Mansfield)

My secret wish is that stans who are worried at any point channel that energy into requesting NCOE that day, and from every Top 40 and HAC station that they are in the listening area for (it's usually more than one, in some places it's five). Heck you can request on mediabase and also tweet or text the same station the same day with a different username. That way you've channeled your energy positively, done all you can, and leave the rest to time to sort out. The station might not play NCOE that day, it doesn't even really matter, but it won't escape their notice that fans are interested in the song and listening for it.
Or at least that's what I do and strangely enough, I rarely worry.

Is "outta my head" Daughtry's 2nd, or 3rd single? I'm very surprised by its number...my local HAC stations play him all the time. ??? hope his album is doing better than the singles...just curious
