Holy Crap! P2's Home has 35 Top 40 stations spining it! AND it is now right behind NCOE on HAC. So much for an Idol bias! :-/

I know the PP song is pretty decent, but this response from radio hasn't happened since Cook's song. And Cook's song never got much CHR action, I think. Do you guys think this is the Interscope backing?

Home is a decent song from a young, unmarried, decent looking kid. It will get some play, especially with Jimmy backing it. Interscope is "on the job" with the people they are signing. Radio PDs embrace the winner and possibly the runner-up for a couple of years, because radio knows that they have a huge fanbase coming off of the show. They also know that the fanbase is going to decrease significantly for era two- that's where the bias comes in. Except for season nine, radio has embraced at least one of the contestant's first songs, whether that was in the form of a coronation song or a first single. That's what is happening with PP. In two years, it will be a completely different situation! For reference sake in the future, Cooks TOML made it to #7 on HAC and I think it made it to the top 20 on CHR.

I don't think the Idol bias kicks in until the year after? ( ETA: I see tigerlily already said this before I posted.) I remember reading just a day or two ago that the song was dropping. Maybe "they" meant on iTunes?

Also, with Adam we're not talking "next year" but two years after. He was gone for so long that he's now having to make a comeback, and comebacks are rarely easy.

There were radio issues with WWFM. Chicago CHR never played it, and HAC only really started spinning after the AI performance; and not for long. Cumulus was a challenge---i think RCA Ed posted about it. I know nothing, lol, but I really think RCA did some MAJOR behind the scenes dealings to get certain big markets on board early. Adam had incredible buzz, a highly anticipated debut album, and a song, FYE, that radio wasn't playing. They HAD to get WWFM on radio.
