OK, finally back and up to date on the thread. Different time zones often makes it hard for me to respond to posts until hours and hours later - often the next day for me. Thank you Hoppers and Seoulmate for the beautiful hugs back at ya. Lifeguard I know exactly what you are saying There was a period of time when I was so completely BO that the only way I could deal with my world was to lock the front door, put on my iPod and go walking for hours and hours, all the while listening to Adam; all his AI covers and FYE over and over and over again. I ALWAYS started the walk with Feeling Good but other songs such as the AI Mad World (one of my all time favourites), Is Anybody Listening, ROF, I Just Love You, BO etc just used to wash over and through me and soothe my soul. It was a combination of the richness in Adam's voice and the way he interpreted/sang the lyrics that helped. It has been discussed here before that you have to 'actively' listen to Adam, you can't just have him bopping along in the background. This is soooooo..... true! When I was out walking I had to listen and as time passed the beauty of his voice and the messages contained in many of the songs flowed through to my inner being and bit by bit, piece by piece I started to heal. Conversely, now when I go walking and whilst I love all of his songs (well maybe not MA, CLYG and Loaded Smile 8-)) it is the upbeat ones that I enjoy most. I really 'power up' when MP, FYE, Strut, IIHY, PUU, Voodoo come on. Fantasy Spring's WLL however, is whole nother ball game Hoopla1.... I lurved this Gelly many thanks for the gorgeous pic spam and no, I can't watch the vids over at AO either >:( Oh, and hallelujah to seeing the 'striped pants' again Erm... I've always lusted been partial to these babies

Huh? But it's being sold on i-Tunes (and every other store) as a CD? It's also listed on Hits Daily Double (the SoundScan predictors) as a CD that is dropping this week!

I GOT MY GNT DVD TODAY, with no email warning! I just stood there stunned, grinning like a fool and staring at it like somebody had just handed me a pot of gold. (Still thinking in St. Patrick's Day mode there, I guess.) I'm DYING to get home to see it. I will NOT waste my first viewing on a computer screen! One hour left here at work and I'll be on my way home to plant myself in front of the HD tv.
Now, my question is this - am I sick to want to keep the shrink wrap with the little label on it? I can't seem to throw it away!

geezlouise: Loved your post. Adam's voice does touch us and move us in a unique way. You wrote: 'Do I believe that the tone and purity of his voice would have pulled me in without the years of technical training? A thousand times yes again!" What I have been trying to point out about Adam's voice is that while his basic anatomy make that tone and purity possible, it is highly unlikely that Adam would be able to produce it and master it as he does without the technical training. My purpose in setting up the vocal masterclass thread, and in commenting on Adam's technique is to point out how much hard work and dedication it took for the voice we hear effortlessly flowing out of Adam. It is another thing about Adam that makes him amazing and admirable. Cassie my post was in no way meant to discredit your vocal masterclass thread and I hope you did not read it that way. I am a frequent reader and have enjoyed your knowledge of the subject immensely. So happens, I’m the touchy-feely, artsy-fartsy type and so much is about colours, feelings and emotions for me. Not so much the technical aspects, but I do have interest in broadening my technical knowledge. While I understand that without his training he would not be as technically skilled as he is, I feel that I would still be enthralled with his voice, were he not. His obvious hard work and dedication are not unknown or unappreciated by me. And like you, and most other fans, I know there are many admirable things about this amazing man.

I know, he is honest to a fault and I can't wait to hear his voice through his lyric. His experiences. Of course that's assuming it's not all DTRH....hee hee. Yeah, as I was typing this I realized that there was really no predicting. I LOVE DTRH, and the way the lyrics, while rather random, also have a strange internal (drug-trippy, lucid-dreamy) logic at times. This is one of those songs that always gives me interesting mental images. In my mind the lyrics of DTRH are kind of a strange cross between Tom Waits' Heart of Saturday night and Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit, but then again, my mind is a very strange place. Tom Waits love mixed with DTRH love!!!! ;D DTRH lyrics are my favorite lyric from FYE and Tom W. is one of my all time favorite lyricists, he knows how to transport you to another place while being both beautifully poetic and totally insanely ridiculous at the same time. My other favorite lyric-wise was BO. For being a fist timer Adam and Greg Wells ( and Sam Sparro) kicked ass lyrically against all the other hit makers on album in my uneducated opinion. I listened to a couple of songs from the girl Adam is supposedly writing with and I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of those type of what I think of as "diary" songs...Boy x did y to me and I felt z but now I'm stronger because of it.........I know Adam is too sophisticated to ever go the Taylor swift route of song writing. Hope we get a couple more trippy, crazy lyrics on the next one too. Shrooms are "organic" right? 8-)

Small Adam mention here on BC Jean's new single: j.mp/ehqxLUBC Jean – I’ll Survive YouPosted on March 18, 2011 by Ryan Brockington ... The single is a gigantic explosion of power ballad brilliance, which makes sense considering it was produced by Max Martin and co-written by Max Martin (P!nk, Katy Perry), Shellback (P!nk, Ke$ha) and Savan Kotecha (Brittney Spears, Adam Lambert). ...
