I'm back quite a few pages, trying to quickly scan the thread, so apologies if this has already been said- green necklace in new photos is perhaps a memorial for the no-longer-worn aqua board shorts????

geezlouise: Loved your post. Adam's voice does touch us and move us in a unique way. You wrote: 'Do I believe that the tone and purity of his voice would have pulled me in without the years of technical training? A thousand times yes again!" What I have been trying to point out about Adam's voice is that while his basic anatomy make that tone and purity possible, it is highly unlikely that Adam would be able to produce it and master it as he does without the technical training. My purpose in setting up the vocal masterclass thread, and in commenting on Adam's technique is to point out how much hard work and dedication it took for the voice we hear effortlessly flowing out of Adam. It is another thing about Adam that makes him amazing and admirable. Cassie my post was in no way meant to discredit your vocal masterclass thread and I hope you did not read it that way. I am a frequent reader and have enjoyed your knowledge of the subject immensely. So happens, I’m the touchy-feely, artsy-fartsy type and so much is about colours, feelings and emotions for me. Not so much the technical aspects, but I do have interest in broadening my technical knowledge. While I understand that without his training he would not be as technically skilled as he is, I feel that I would still be enthralled with his voice, were he not. His obvious hard work and dedication are not unknown or unappreciated by me. And like you, and most other fans, I know there are many admirable things about this amazing man. I didn't take offense to your post at all. I understood where you are coming from. Our reaction to Adam's voice is visceral, not analytical. In the end we don't care how he does what he does with his voice. We just care how we respond to what we hear. And it is obvious that what we hear soothes us, energizes us, lifts us up, challenges us to be better and live to the fullest, and causes all kinds of good endorphins to be released in our brains. It's all good.

Especially since, in the one on the left, he is sitting with BCJean! I'd think she was worthy of the publicity too. Although, Just Jared does seem to be having major fanboy behavior over Adam lately!

I've often wondered how messed up my priorities are in relation to Adam. Today I found out. I met with some friends to listen to a little music and have a bite of lunch. While we were doing that, a plane crashed into the water 100 yards from us - just a little banner plane. The pilot got out, 15 or 20 men waded into the waves and dragged the plane to shore. People were running from all directions, police, fire, ambulances showed up and in an hour or so, things had calmed down. The pilot was not hurt. I went home. When I got home, my DVD was at the front door and I promptly watched it, clapping at the thought that strangers would get to see Adam in all his glory. I was so excited. About 20 minutes ago a friend called and excitedly asked, "Are you okay?" My immediate answer was, "OMG, I am but I can't believe how fabulous he is." Needless to say, she had heard on the radio at work about the plane crash, soon after it happened, and when they gave the general area, it encompassed the location of my house." I had forgotten all about THAT event in the excitement of Adam. Only here can I relate that story and expect some sort of understanding.

Re Adam's voice.... I am constantly amazed at how constantly amazed I am at his voice. I may go just a short time without hearing him, but with his first note my head goes up and I say "wow! listen to that!" even though it is a song I've heard a million times. It's like I have no short term (or long term) memory of him! It just happened again with the DVD. After IIHY there are crowd shots and shots of Monte, etc while the audience screams to him to do an encore, and with his first note of TCB, I'm all "Listen to that!" I lol at myself.
Re the green thing.... watch it turn out to be some expensive jade thing. lol

Before I head out for the evening, I broke down and started listening to the streaming live performances from the CD. I was going to wait til mine arrived, but all your chatter got me thinking, WHY WAIT? I put on headphones and was doing some menial clerical work and realized this was not a good combo. I could hardly think about what I was doing--too much head bobbing, Wowing, etc. Hope I didn't make too many errors. That was so fun! I like the live CD even better than the video we've seen. Probably that's because of the live crowd sounds--the energy is unbelievable. I couldn't enjoy the live performances I went to as much as I wanted because it was all too loud and hurt my ears. I can't wait for the CD to arrive to play in my car. Maybe I should increase my insurance coverage before I try that since we know how that can affect our driving skills. ;D ;D ;D
I'll check in and catch up late tonight. Have a good Friday evening, everyone!!!!

Re the green thing.... watch it turn out to be some expensive jade thing. lol I rarely, if ever, think that anything he wears is fugly (guys here wear the board shorts all the time) but if he paid a lot of money for that piece of shit jewellery Imma run down to the beach right now and pick up a hunk of driftwood or some other such chunk of beach garbage and a piece of discarded boat rope and try to sell it to him.

I phoned a local store yesterday and they will have GNT Live in stock on Monday and it's Saturday here already. WHOO HOO *waits impatiently*
Adams voice has often reduced me to tears with it's sheer beauty.
This is OT, but Hayley Westenra's performance of Amazing Grace yesterday at the Christchurch commemorative service also made me cry. Hayley is a successful classical singing star in the UK, but she was born in Christchurch and in fact had only been back in Britain from there a few days before the quake struck.
I could see Hayley and Adam making beautiful music together.
