Re the green thing.... watch it turn out to be some expensive jade thing. lol I rarely, if ever, think that anything he wears is fugly (guys here wear the board shorts all the time) but if he paid a lot of money for that piece of shit jewellery Imma run down to the beach right now and pick up a hunk of driftwood or some other such chunk of beach garbage and a piece of discarded boat rope and try to sell it to him. That green thing looks like plastic or rubber. Maybe it's for holding one's bottle of Tequila or Vodka!

So excited for all of you getting your DVDs today. So sad that we, in the West, will not have ours until next week!

I just wrote a longish post about his jewelry - spurred by the green necklace discussion. I deleted it because it was dumb and because I don't really care about his jewelry. ;D

I phoned a local store yesterday and they will have GNT Live in stock on Monday and it's Saturday here already. WHOO HOO *waits impatiently* Adams voice has often reduced me to tears with it's sheer beauty. This is OT, but Hayley Westenra's performance of Amazing Grace yesterday at the Christchurch commemorative service also made me cry. Hayley is a successful classical singing star in the UK, but she was born in Christchurch and in fact had only been back in Britain from there a few days before the quake struck. I could see Hayley and Adam making beautiful music together. Mmmmmmm. Beautiful, ringing, light soaring voice. So perfect a cappella. Thanks for sharing.

Every day I feel embarassed that I am part of a generation of people who willingly deny the rights of other people. But, your generation will probably also be the generation that gives the rights to the same people. Think positive! It is coming! Maybe not in my lifetime, but in yours for sure. ETA: I'm not that old, but I know I am quite a bit older than Chunkey. Well I know that it will be here in my lifetime! Change is in the wind -- and it is happening now -- it will not take another 20 years. Sometimes things seem slow, but when you look, things are changing rapidly. Sodomy laws (designed to ban homosexual acts between consenting adults) were not struck down until 2003 with Lawrence v. Texas US Supreme Court decision. It has only been 8 years and now we have legal civil unions or gay marriage in several states, the end of DADT, some employment rights and most large US corporations offer some form of domestic partner benefits. So while not close to perfect, we are making progress. Most importantly, for the first time ever the majority of US voters support equal rights for all Americans -- unrelated to race, gender, sexual orientation, origin or disability. The most recent addition to that list is sexual orientation -- just flipped to the majority opinion in 2009. And it is people who are over 35 who are changing their minds. Having prominent, likable actors, performers, business people, etc. be proudly LGB has made a lot of difference. I am firmly convinced that Adam has changed a lot of people's hearts and minds. He is, of course, not alone, but he broke the gay music industry/radio barrier. Just like Rachael Maddow and Ellen kicked in the TV newscaster/interviewer barriers. JMHO -- I think we will have national legal LBG equality within 10 years and acceptance within 20 years. Less than a generation. (I think that Transgender/Transexual equality is a different matter and will take longer.)

Just as I was leaving to go out of town today, I got my DVD/CD and was so thrilled that I would have the CD to listen to as I traveled. As soon as I got on the interstate, I put in my CD and turned Glam Nation waaay up. As soon as "the voice" filled my car, I literally started crying (and I am not a crier). I was suddenly transported back to the anticipation, the excitement, the joy of one of the most euphoric experiences of my life, hearing Adam Lambert live. Live, he puts you on sensory (and sensua!) overload and there I was crying while he sang VooDoo! Needless to say, my trip was super fun and I needed a cigarette when I reached my destination! I won't get to watch the DVD until Sunday...much to look forward to!
