You know what, Mika, this being a human being is a tricky and time consuming business. First, we have this conscious mind, a wonderful entity that is wired to efficiently stereotype the input of the five senses, so that it can cope with the bombardment we are subjected to each day. An efficient processor of information it may be, but we all know what happens when efficiency is king, right? Taming this beast is a lot of fun. Then, of course, it is impossible to have a thought without a corresponding feeling. Think rose. Idea of rose appears with feeling about rose. Simultaneously. We are aware of one or the other first, depending on our preferences and habitual responses. But one does not exist without the other. And the feeling is entirely at our discretion, depending on our experiences with roses. Two responses at any one time. One completely our own reality. The other possibly sorted into the wrong category. We then have another set of sub-conscious and possibly un-conscious thoughts/feelings about things. And we're not even aware of what's going on there (unless we've brought out our shovels and dug for a number of years). And we do that, naturally, while flawlessly multi-tasking our future-shocked lives ;D. So lets see, my binary processor is actually doing a task well and I can count to 6 concurrent reactions, 4 of which are generally unknown to us. And how many are completely subjective? And how do they relate to one another. Hmmmm. But oh, I almost forgot, human beings are social creatures and the collective consciousness factors in as well. Eight. Phew. And still more, this deal possibly comes with a set of steak knives and some speculate that we have a universal form of consciousness. I'll give that the benefit of the doubt. Ten. Or maybe I can't count properly. Or maybe I've muddled my categories. :dunno: Whoa. And you want us to talk about what? After mastering the tattoo yesterday? No wonder you ran away .... The ever wonderful seoulmate is right on the money again: seoulmate, I tried to embed this pic but somehow the board would not cooperate with me, you succeeded I see. Well, I saved it under another name, then I dumped it into an online editor for a strenuous re-sizing, then I finally uploaded it to photobucket. I'm sure the poor pic was feeling like this---> by the time I got through with it. LOL

nikki -- between my new job and yesterday's bizarro thread, my head feels like that too! For once juniemoon doesn't have much to say. LOL. We've talked about Bill Murray before in the MG and I wanted to leave a link to this new interview: www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/movies/bill-murray-star-of-hyde-park-on-hudson.html?_r=1&A few good excerpts: Q. There’s a kind of joy you seem to bring out of people when they encounter you. Do you notice that?
A. Some are more joyous than others. I’m of the habit that if there are people waiting outside the hotel, you don’t sign those autographs there. Because that means when you come back in the middle of the night, they’re still there. It’s usually a one-time thing. That’s it; that’s your one time. You try your hardest, but you can’t always be perfect. *** Q. You have enemies?
A. Oh, they’re out there. I know I’ve rubbed some people the wrong way. There was an autograph guy two days ago that got into it with me on the street. I said: “One of my habits is I don’t do exactly what you want me to do. I really didn’t get the guideline about your life. I was just trying to live my own right now.” I hope his new movie "Hyde Park on the Hudson" turns out to be good. FDR is one of my heroes and I know quite a bit about the incident portrayed in the movie, so I feel a mix of excitement and dread! :D

Good morning moonies! Time for a puppy update. We decided that one is enough. Misty is her name. Of course, she doesn't know it yet, but she'll get there. What a bundle of joy and a real devil too. Goes to the door to go outside. No accidents so far. She's a good girl in the car. Stood absolutely still for a bath! Things that are usually hard to train for in the beginning. Thanks so much to her original owner/breeder. She has only stolen a few things that are not hers - my gloves are a favorite. Getting ready to put the tinsel on the tree. I have a source for the real old fashioned metal kind if anyone is interested. I have therapy today and will be gone for 4 hours. I'm gonna barricade the tree with some lawn chairs. I've been gone for a few hours a couple of times and she didn't get into anything.
I know I don't post a lot, but I catch up by reading every morning when hubby leaves for work. Thank you all for everything you say. I especially related to mahailia's post about being one with nature. The strongest times for me to get there is being on a boat out in the ocean. A sail boat because you just hear the wind and water. We used to go on sailing trips on a friend's boat to the Bahamas every year. Hearing, feeling, seeing the water is pure nirvana for me. I sleep better, eat more and could live in that environment in a heart beat. I think I was a sailor in a previous life. I could go on and on about the connection I feel with the sea. We're thinking of renting a bare boat and inviting our old friend the captain to join us for a week or two. If that doesn't pan out, I know that we will retire to Florida when the time comes.
Some people may think I'm crazy, but Shadow's spirit is in the house with me. The other morning I was talking to her about Misty, how much I miss her, etc. I looked up and a big christmas ball that we have hang in the window. While I was talking to Shadow, the ball started swaying back and forth. The windows were closed and there was not reason for that ball to be swing. I think she was somehow letting me know that she was okay and approved of Misty. There also a few coincidental things. She eats, sleeps sometimes, and plays in Shadow's favorite places. She eats her cookies on the same rug. But when I give her a special treat (chicken jerky), she eats it on the other rug that Shadow did. There's no reason to do this, but Shadow did it with the jerky treats every time. It's like Shadow is letting her know where the cool places are. Anyway, getting her was the best thing to do at this time in my life. Nothing like unconditional love to help heal and stay in positive attitude mode.
Sorry for the OT, all over the place post, but I wanted to share it with my Moon Garden friends. Have a great day everyone.
xoxo
ETA: Wen I get a great picture of Misty, maybe someone here can help me make an avi. Also, does anyone here know how to make the font a little bigger?

sugaree, I will be glad to help you make an avi when the time comes. Thanks for the Christmas music station. I don't know how to make the forum itself appear larger, but you should be able to change your display in your browser. Which one do you use? There should be a menu called "View" with a Zoom option. That's what I use for Atop. Sometimes it reverts to the default view but then I can just choose it again. It was so neat what you wrote about Shadow's spirit communicating with Misty (great name, by the way!). I have had bunnies for about 30 years and never had anything like that happen. What was really interesting to me was what happened the one time I had two rabbits at the same time. Flower (the diva) came to us in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and we already had Bear, who was 9 years old - - a veritable Methuselah in bunny years. Bear was completely blind, only had one ear, and one working nostril. Flower was young. So we didn't let them out together, but we put their cages together. Flower was very interested in Bear, and eventually they laid together with just the bars between them. The funny thing was that Bear started doing things -- such as "gestures" - - that he had never done before in his life. Funny things Flower was doing. At first I thought maybe they had a collective mind. Later, I saw a special on giraffes and learned that they have been found to "speak" through subsonic communication. Maybe rabbits do the same thing. Maybe we all do? Food for thought. I love the idea, sugaree, of Shadow helping Misty get settled. :D mahailia, you know -- I am SO impressed with your son!

Can you imagine Adam and Aretha improvising and playing off each other................ Just wow.

Another legend I'd love him to sing with is Tina Turner. I posted this a long time ago after I saw Adam's WLL at FS live. I really thought that Adam had heard Tina's version at one point and it was back in his subconscious somewhere........... I love the funky Shaft beat, but listen to the vocals and tell me you don't find similarities.

sugaree, it is funny that you mentioned Tina Turner. Yesterday I was feeling sad thinking about a very close friend who passed away this past year. Yesterday was her birthday.
We knew each other for many years, but last year I started telling her about Adam and sharing some videos. She liked old rock so I shared Change Is Gonna Come/20th Century Boy from the Music Box. She loved them, including Adam's speech at the beginning, and said he was "a male Tina Turner."
