BRAVA! sugaree!I never heard of any of this before! Amazing the things I learn at Atop. Lilith was the name of the the female vampire that appeared and was worshipped on the last season of True Blood. It was interesting. The story line of the blood of the vampire godess was intriguing, and the religion and heritage of the vampires that was put forth on the show, that vampires were the true first species created. I thought it was paralleling many Christian rituals, but maybe it was Jewish? Very, very interesting! Thanks for posting. Impressed with your skilz............fingers must be working better! Keep it up! eta: I will post something on True Blood - Season 5 when I get my google working again. trueblood.wikia.com/wiki/Lilith#

This is not related to any current discussion, just a good one on certain days:
Frantic orthodoxy is never rooted in faith but in doubt. It is when we are unsure that we are doubly sure. -- Reinhold Niebuhr

Jablea : Nikki : I hope everyone is having a good holiday season. Tonight I have some time to myself and am planning to work on an Adam craft project for my sister's stocking. If it turns out well I'll post a picture. Have you guys seen this? This is a beautiful video about an youth orchestra in Paraguay. These people are the poorest of the poor; they make a living selling things they forage out of the the landfill. One man found a half-destroyed violin and the rest is astonishing. Everyone here knows the feeling of having our lives changed by music. The musical director here says: “When I listen to the sound of a violin, I feel butterflies in my stomach. The world sends us garbage. We send back music.”

OK you guys. My craft project was a success. Remember, this is a secret. Christmas! Do not tell anyone. LOL. On the outside: A humble Altoids tin, suitable for your purse or placing on your desk. On the inside: AN ADAM SHRINE Hope she likes it! ;D

beautiful, mika, thanks for posting! And, how was your move? Are you finished and resettled yet? I'll bet you have it down to a science, I think you have moved at least twice in the last 3 years.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season, and Merry Christmas to all, and Happy Hanukkah as well.
I'm going to be super busy for the next few weeks, but will check in when I can. Family coming in for Christmas, shopping, traveling, cleaning, cooking, organizing, etc., etc., etc........
junie ! so cute, your sis will love it! So creative!!!!! And please give her a hug GLAM HUG from me. Love the garbage music, a friend sent it to me a few days ago, very inspiring, it is wonderful that these kids have such great spirits in spite of their living conditions. Music truly is the language of the Universe. Adam is so smart!
alek and nikki, where are you?

JunieAlisonMahailiamahailia, I'm here, but not - just buried deep in another thread (my equivalent of Junie's project). Work has been so busy, so what do I do? Take on more to relax : I'm just consolidating Adam's duets and covers in another thread. I haven't forgotten our other conversation, I promise, and I'll pm you soon. And yes, more of Aleks here would be really appreciated. Junie, [/IMG] I love the idea of "secret" Adam for your sister, kept in the most unlikely of places. Orthodoxies of any kind disturb me. The beautiful landfill video talked of not throwing people away as garbage and the salvation of music - here's our version - orthodoxy of another kind. With the volume on, it is almost unbearable: www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=6Cf7IL_eZ38&vq=medium

To each and every Moon Gardener - wishing you Better Days and a beautiful 2013. It's a wonderful thing to come together to share love and appreciation for a man who makes the world a brighter place just by being in it.

To each and every Moon Gardener - wishing you Better Days and a beautiful 2013. It's a wonderful thing to come together to share love and appreciation for a man who makes the world a brighter place just by being in it. Thanks for your message, Mika, and it is so true. It can be difficult to convey to others how special Adam is to us, beyond his singing and performing talents. And also, thank you for posting the video with John Rzeznik, another special person. What happened in Connecticut has been weighing on me the past day or so, as we have recently taken in a family of 5 - my daughter-in-law's brother's family who found themselves homeless (don't need to go into details here, but it happened). They will be staying with us for 1-2 months before things get resolved, and even though it's a tight fit, it's the kids that matter the most - ages 5, 2, and 5 months. What's making this work is the strength and pulling together of the women involved - my daughter-in-law, her brother's Philippino wife, my granddaughter, and me (the grandma in all this) - with our mutual respect, sharing, and camaraderie it's going to work. Today we celebrated the baby's fifth month with a carrot pie that I bought from a Muslim baker at one of our local farmers market. I told the baker how much the baby liked the pie, and he said it is no different than Gerber's baby food - only it's a real pie (kind of like sweet potato or pumpkin pie, but milder). So for now, I leave you all with a peaceful picture of the Santa Cruz Mountains (near where Adam & Sauli celebrated Brooke's wedding)
