Just checking in after getting back home from family visits and the Costa Mesa concert (didn't get to Fantasy Springs, however).
Since I prefer posting here at the Moon Garden, here are a few of my impressions of the Costa Mesa concert: I did feel he appeared to be a little tired, but maybe that was just me projecting what we know of his schedule and travels over the past several weeks. However, Adam is such a pro that he kicked it up and gave us a great show. After all the hoopla of the Queen shows, I loved seeing him back with his own band and I especially loved the tight rapport there - being back with his band made it seem more like a "hometown" show. For me the best song of the night was "Pop That Lock" - it sounded really great live, and having the back-up singers as the back-up dancers was a masterful touch.
My nephew did not come to the show. He has some anxiety issues about being in crowds, so I'm sorry he didn't come. However, in his place, my brother came - my brother who is 70+ and whose choice of music is Gilbert & Sullivan. It was such a hoot having him along. I had to laugh and tell him "Now you're going to see how crazy I really am!" But we had a great time - he stood the whole time and clapped along with all of us. He really did enjoy the whole experience, and while I'm not sure if he will ever become a Glambert, he is an example of a "casual person" getting Adam.
On the way back to LA that evening, we got stuck in the same *&$%@* traffic mess that Adam did - thought we'd never get back to Pasadena.

Skinny dipping at the Moon Garden Lounge ... what a great way to start a Monday. annala, I loved your mini-recap of the concert in CM. It was great that you got to go with your brother. It was so fun that he was open-minded enough to have a good time. Reminds me of my mom -- she loved Dixieland jazz, Elvis, Johnnie Ray, etc. the most, but she had fun listening to ALL kinds of music. Alison, your mini-recap of the live stream from Fantasy Springs whetted my appetite for the real thing. I wanna see the HBIC! I find the main thing I miss from abstaining from the main thread right now is pictures -- I love pictures and have a collection -- but I can go pick those up later. I like how this thread is connective rather than divisive.

Reading backwards, reacting to page 17: Hugs and kisses for Theosgma and Nationalglampoon! Who made you feel bad, National, I'm gonna kick their assesSeriously, you both are loved by many here. :D Page 16: waves and kisses to Mszue and Duberville: I'm kind of glad I can't share your feelings since I don't know the history of this place. Sorry about your nostalgia. :D Juniemoon, how's that Adam cleanse going? Are you being strong enough Annala, thanks for the recap: what did your brother say after the concert, ARE you crazy? And I think Mika mentioned Cillian Murphy: he has the leading role in one of my favourite movies of all time, Breakfast on Pluto. It's magical.

AlexandraKv, Well, my brother said he always knew I was a little off-beat; I've always been kind of the maverick in my family. We went with my LA son who is also a big Adam fan, so he got to navigate the freeways (including that late night freeway mess that Adam got stuck in as well).
