You guys, the discussion about 50 Shades of Gray reminds me of
cassie's earlier post about singing. When you do know something about writing, it is so painful to read horrible writing and even more painful that the majority of the public doesn't care (
jk rowling).
Thackerville! My sister and I timed our arrival so we did not have too much time to kill in the casino, since neither of us likes them. I have to say Winstar is not kidding about being a casino. Somehow I expected it to be rather two-bit but it is
enormous and seems very popular. Our room at the hotel was surprisingly nice.
We had a great dinner meeting up with several Glamberts including
LindaG23 (who is so smart and funny) and
theosgma. I met
adamantine but too briefly. Thanks theos for the nice things you said about me in your recap. I loved talking with you. It turns out we see eye to eye on many things, including Adam's nature and his place in the infinite chain of being.
We put on our much sweated-over outfits (LOL) and went to the event center. It's really nice -- infinitely nicer than the GA venue where I saw Adam in 2010. There was a long line for merch that we got in. I love all the new t-shirt designs. Glad Adam finally has a good t-shirt designer and I look forward to more.
The energy in the crowd was high and extremely upbeat and positive. There were a lot more men than at GNT, both husbands and gay guys. Most people near me were over 30.
Incredible screaming when the lights went out. Adam exploded on to the stage in his red sweatpants! I screamed my lungs out! They didn't leave much to the imagination! I love how Adam doesn't ever let himself be predictable.
I won't recap every song, but will tell you that from the get-go the energy was sexual and mutual. Adam humped the microphone in the first song and it just went from there with thrusting and body rolls and cute sexy faces. The audience was crazy, singing along and jumping and bouncing and waving our arms, trying to give it all back.
I LOVED the divas dancing with Adam during Pop That Lock. You have no idea what it means to me that Adam has chosen these women who are not conventionally beautiful to wiggle and writhe on stage with him.
The transitional number that Brian started, "Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself" was a very touching and thrilling infinity moment as Adam came back out in his leopard print shirt and joined in. We were ALL singing it to each other. Adam was so funny and sincere in thanking us and I sensed his immense joy that we were there to see HIM singing HIS songs. So much for feeling it would be a "come down" after Queen. I hope he realizes how much we were thanking him too.
The shirt was loose and falling open; good view of the chest! The sound in the venue was not great but otherwise I loved the venue. The big TV monitors took all the pressure off because I could look up at them any time it was hard to see and see big closeups of Adam. Very sexy sweaty and Elvisian.
There is a LOT of chemistry between Adam and Ashley. If I didn't know better I would think they were dating.
The sing along during Naked Love was tons of fun and Adam seemed to think so too. He made us sing until I was hoarse! It was so hilarious when he said we were very musical and that "some of my other audiences were SO STUPID." Ouch, Adam!
The Adam blackout I did was worth it. I was almost entirely "in the moment" and had no sense of where I was in time. I was surprised when the show ended.
Adam really made us suffer before returning for the encores. The last song, Cuckoo, was incredible. The energy reached Springsteen proportions. Adam was a madman and so were we.
Phenomenal show! So happy.
