Mika, I can't speak for others, but I think the idea was to set forth the "story behind the moon." Since the people who have joined in already "get it," the audience was newcomers. Many folks are more logical than metaphorical and like to read what a place is all about.
Since several people wanted it, I volunteered to try because I can do this kind of work. I did my best to write something with that audience in mind.
Soooo .... at this point, I feel like I've been chased all week, like the outlaws of love (not just because of this one issue). I just want a place to read and post nice and/or interesting things about Adam.
So I'm out of the mission statement/manifesto/welcome mat business.
[sets down ball for someone else to pick up] [goes off to read nice/interesting things in the thread]

Junie, you have been a true lifesaver in working so hard to keep, first the dark-side and now this place, actively working! If you are being chased, then I picture it looking just like the very last scene in the NCOE video. You have an inspired group of colorful followers running by your side!
Thanks to all who have put in a lot to give us a fitting place to share the warmth of Adam.

chapf, your smiley is so adorable. It makes me feel good just to know you are here.
anjalee, that was such an interesting observation you shared about Adam looking so comfortable as an "eccentric aristocrat." Definitely not a type you find in America's capital! LOL to even think about it!
While Kierkegaard is usually way too deep for me, one concept of his that really resonates with me is about "leveling" because it is so deeply embedded in American culture. American social history IS the relentless process of attempting to level the differences between us. One of the great contributions of America as far as social justice, which is huge, but ...
With that has come a conformity that I have seen accelerating in my lifetime (perhaps due to the Internet? mass marketing down to a science? -- not sure). People don't want to stand out and resent those who do, and look askance at passion.
"Whoa, why don't you say what you really think?!" is the alarmed reaction to a passionate statement. Once I told a co-worker about a vacation I was planning to visit historical sites that had formed the basis of my research for years. You know what she said? "Get a life." As if my passion for my subject was so individual, so non-conformist, that it was essentially meaningless!
It seems that Adam is incapable of being bland and blending in with the mainstream. He lives with obvious passion. He insists on being an individual. This leads to his being labeled as an absurd person. Even fans scheme about ways he could be more like everybody else and then "succeed." Succeed at what, exactly?
I hate the idea of Adam having to move away from the United States to be accepted. There are so many of us who need him here!

There are so many of us who need him here! Yes, to everything you just said. To belong to the group, the mainstream, the ones apparently with power, seems to be such a powerful force on planet earth. There is no culture on earth that truly celebrates the individual and helps them rise to their full glory. Certainly not Indian, or for that matter English. Perhaps it's a matter of degrees, or pockets or facets in which some are better than others? Its basically hard to be an individual without being given a hard time and told to "get a life". And it is the thing i love most - to see someone shine when they wanna shine. No wonder Im so attracted to Adam and want everything for him. But he fights many forces, every day. Sometimes its with love and some times it has to be "fuck this shit".

Thank you to all who are contributing here and the wonderful thoughts you are all bringing to this thread, especially those who have rolled out the welcome mat a hundred times trying to accommodate every guest at their door step. Thanks also to those who answered my and other people's question about this thread vs the dark one.
I feel that now the threads just need to be allowed to live and I very much hope that those initiators please don't feel like they have to defend or explain anything, they are the ones that gave these threads life. The beauty of what is here validates them, there is no more need to do anything further and I feel it is time to just sit back and wait and time will sort out what works and what does not on a day to day level.
Who knows how all will feel, when situations change, i.e. instead of the present radio concerns there is something else going on - time will tell how these structures work out then.
I am writing this to just want to calm the worries of those who are the most active here. Your house is beautiful, I and so many others appreciate it here, we will attempt to contribute as best we can and wherever it seems the most appropriate and helpful.
And when we have nothing more to say, we also will just quietly read and be content.

I don't think my statement was strongly worded - but if it came across that way then I do apologize. Was just a musing - and if several people want it and mine was just a musing - I think majority has it? I'm cool with that ofc. As for the other, I just liked Jamie's iconic moon and thought maybe as you are second post (I think) you could modify to add the words there. But again - just a thought - I'm not flouncin' or huffin' around or anything Was only casual response from someone who would probably wander in the rain w/out the guidance of others (well okay I have but I like rain). your statement is lovely - plz don't be put off by me.

LOL, mika. No one is mad. Just being a Texan. Yes, it's a real thing. Thanks kay and craazyforadam! This has been quite a ride, this week. That was a good idea about putting the welcome mat as the second post. I've done it and so if anyone needs to refer someone to it, there it is on page 1. Peace and love, strong brother.

adamlambert Adam Lambert @iamwill Great catching up with you tonight!Honestly, my first thought on seeing this was hoping Adam got the anecdotal version of when the BEP staff dude punched Perez. Yes, raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens and gving Perez a black eye are among my favourite things. ETA: Unrelated. Does anyone else remember Colour Me Badd? Hmm.

Thanks, Junie, for your dedication. It's great to see everyone dropping in and loving the thoughtful posts!
I just watched this performance by Kishi Bashi. I really liked it and bought his new album which is lush, layered, complex pop. He records himself while performing and loops it into the performance.
Here is a track from his album--Bright Whites
