I was looking for the YT from Drag Race that Adam was talking about Limbo Lamar being his drag name and i found this version. I've never seen it before its an extended version of the one i saw and its super fun. I love his reaction when Jai is telling him that he's so stylish and he thought that Adam lived in New York. Also i love it when the drag queen is refering to Adam as "she" and he doesnt blink an eye.Maybe you've seen it.Anyway it starts from 1.50.

Unfortunately, it is Top 40 radio who says what's current and what's not. Yes, current is a buzzword, hard to define and is ever changing but at the most basic it is something that gets airplay on the radio. As for Glee, they sing a lot of current hits. So there's that juxtaposition of style and content. It is not straight up musical theater which is - in a teenager's mind - 'old people's music'. Sorry to be so harsh and un-PC but that's how I see it. I definitely see your point, Sunflower, however I would use the word "mainstream" aka popular, to describe what is played on Top 40 radio. There is music that is "current" that isn't and never will be mainstream. Muse is current but I never hear them on Top 40. And isn't hipster culture all about knowing what is current and hip, and rejecting the mainstream?

I saw this on twitter and out of curiosity I looked up her twitter page...she lives in Massachusetts and there is no mention of her moving or visiting CA...I think she used AFL's name to get hits or followers Thanks lindy . If this is the case it is SO STUPID.!! Wait, I glanced at her feed and she did say she was headed for the West Coast ... let me see if I can find it. ETA: Yes, she had a convo on 3/17: Ashleerosem: Rise and shine heading out to LA with ms. @cassiewalsh finallyyyy #springbreak Cassiewalsh: west coast, we're comin!

Gelly14, thanks for posting that vid. But, errrggggghhhh, so frustrated that Adam didn't get to tell us about his "cuckoo" philosophies related to drag. And Lynneville, thanks for finding those glittery twigs. Of COURSE there are glittery twigs. And now I totally know what to do with all that leftover glitter

SusieFierceUnfortunately, it is Top 40 radio who says what's current and what's not. I agree that Glee does take a lot from current pop hits, but I take issue with Top 40 dictating to us about what is current, because I do not agree (I've been railing on this forever). Though they still wield considerable influence, that is decreasing rapidly in the grand scheme of things. Adele and SuBo happened with almost no radio support. (That doesn't mean that I don't hope Adam has several radio smashes, I do, but I'm just glad we live in a time where we can have many other options for sharing and discovering music.) I've always thought chasing a highly capricious and arbitrary market is extremely difficult to do with any authenticity and is often the kiss of death. Of course, you can get the top hit makers on your side, etc., but the bottom line, is you have to do what you do. The film industry constantly tries to play it safe by duplicating prior successes, and the results are often a trainwreck. Someone who chases the market is rarely groundbreaking. You might be a momentary sensation, but like we've used the analogy of a skyrocket in the past – you take off and soar white hot, but you die out just as quickly. (God knows Rebecca Black has been trending for a week solid ...) An artist can be market savvy without being a slave to the market, I think. Of course, if we were having the discussion about "Soaked," as a potential single – not did it work in the context of his concert? – that would be another conversation entirely. You make some very good points. I certainly don't want him to just chase the market. It's more about finding balance between artistic intergrity and surviving in today's market. I think he is very aware of this dilemma as he has mentioned it several times before.
