But for the next tour, I expect to see a more personal show -- no lack of entertainment, and I am sure costumes and dancers will be involved -- but songs that mean more to Adam because he wrote them. In the GNT live performance, Soaked was a vocal highpoint, but Aftermath meant more to me and connected in a different way. I think that is because Adam wrote Aftermath and "owned" the lyrics.
This makes me think of something Eber said right after Fantasy Springs. He was getting a bunch of tweets from fans who wanted to know what he thought about acoustic WLL, and they seemed to assume that was the highlight of the concert for him. His response was something to the effect that WLL was a nice surprise, but that he was totally blown away by Broken Open. My thought at the time was that he preferred Broken Open, at least in part, because it was such a personal song for Adam. I saw GNT a lot --- but not enough . One of the most memorable moments for me was the first time I heard Broken Open live (Wilkes Barre). It was one of those moments when it seemed like Adam was emotionally bare and open. But I was not that surprised -- it was and remains my favorite track on the 14-Track US album (I put Voodoo and CLYG higher.) The surprise to me, is that the live performance of Aftermath moved me from -- "Why did the muck up this album with that musty rock-light Daughtry wantabe production? (I am not a fan of Bensen's production style and lack of respect for Adam's vocals and the lyrics.) To owning all three versions of the song. Love the AL version and Dance Mix. I know many Adam fans like the FYE album version of Aftermath. Just not my style of music -- and I really could not get past the production to really hear the song. And I find the back-up vocals annoying on both the album and remix version. Adam needs no back-up singer(s) except for Adam on this song. Now, Aftermath Acoustic is the #1 AFL song on my playlist. And has been seen I downloaded it.

Unfortunately, it is Top 40 radio who says what's current and what's not. Yes, current is a buzzword, hard to define and is ever changing but at the most basic it is something that gets airplay on the radio.
As for Glee, they sing a lot of current hits. So there's that juxtaposition of style and content. It is not straight up musical theater which is - in a teenager's mind - 'old people's music'. Sorry to be so harsh and un-PC but that's how I see it.

Well I can't elaborate on L&L Tour yet -- but I just learned something so amazing that I had to share. I was trying to find a copy of the famous Jim Morrison leather pants with the Navajo Conjo belt to illustrate the "concept" -- when I came across a number of stories about the pants. I knew Jim Morrison was the first rock star to wear tight leather pants, and I knew they were custom made for him by an old German tailor in Beverly Hills out of glove leather. But I never knew the whole story. Here is the story: jonalysis.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/how-jim-morrison-got-his-leather-pants/ (nice blog version but matches the real published versions.) Like many posthumous Jim Morrison stories told by Ray Manzarek, Ray did a lot. I think Ray may give himself too much credit sometimes. You know -- he who writes the history, get to say he was king. I hope I am not completely late on this but just for the fun of it, try this. Click on the link and, if you haven't already...read it. But then, slowly scroll down and watch as the picture disapears...stop when there is just a half an inch or so of picture left and check out the pattern of the mike chord!!! : You mean the eye of horus mic cord? LOL

Are you all getting e-mails every day with the link to The Aftermath remix on You Tube? I've been getting one from AO and MySpace every day for the past several days! I noticed the views are only 8,000 (seems strange, huh?) Do you think they want to get these views up. I mean it's not a music video, just the song, and we all have that already? www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ7Q_AMimKM

I'm registered at AO so I don't know what the difference is. Not that I'm disappointed to not get an e-mail asking me to listen to a song on you tube that I've already bought from them.
