So I just read on the main thread that NCOE is up to 710 spins in the UK---which sounds great But, is there anyone who can explain what this means? Like, how many spins does the #20 or #10 song have? And, are these all still Capital spins only?

I don't know Adam Lambert personally, but after stanning him for 3 years , and now reading all this shit about US radio , my instincts tell me that our rebel boy would love to say F**k You to US radio and go ball to the walls globally. Looks like he will have a good start at that in the UK but is radio corrupted world-wide?.....guess we'll see what happens.

I didn't notice the date on the Salon article when I posted it. I apologize for my error. Don't feel bad. I just remember that we've discussed payola's "demise" quite a bit in the past so I was skeptical. I do think we need to discuss the radio business. Both my stations a HAC and Top 40 owned by the same company went bankrupt. The HAC station has always played Idol artists and was an early player/adder for both singles this time around. Why are HAC and Top 40 stations going broke? Is the whole radio industry in trouble just like the yellow page printers?

tigerlily --- "This thread isn't just for a LIST of the numbers, but for the numbers and discussions of how they relate to Adam and what is going on with radio and the music industry in general.
--- If for some strange reason, Adam has time to be reading a numbers thread on a fansite at this moment, : he would expect to see varying opinions and even some criticism. Adam is a thirty year old, mature man who grew up doing theatre. He knows how to handle criticism."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS! and may I add, I believe Adam would also appreciate some objectivity and realistic expectations on his fan board!
Yes, we all know how mega talented and charismatic Adam is, and the fact that he has NOT made it to the top tier of the music world is frustrating and baffling as hell! But, it's the reality, for now! The struggle on the radio, the sales slump, they're as real as decent adds/spins and chart positions, and they're all reflected in the numbers each week. We celebrate the "good" and point out the "bad", I mean, this isn't a "rainbow & puppies" thread, after all.
With Adam out of country devoting much his time to UK & Queen gig right now, everywhere else is gonna either stagnate or slide, and IMO, it's in Adam's & RCA's projection. We have no clue what RCA is or is not doing but without Adam's presence, kinda hard to do a real meaningful promo unless they decided to throw in a cool million on NCOE, which might not be in Adam's best interest (thinking money for the 3rd single).
Mys*&@^#r, please come back!

I didn't promote Casey Abrahams! That is ridiculous! Someone mentioned it got more adds than NCOE and I said it was a good CD and a catchy song! Promoting would be saying buy it! Or saying it's better than NCOE or the album! Conversely, Stefano got mmore adds and his song is crap! You know the number thread isn't for everyone, but I am getting tired of people who never post here or do all the work to compile this shit coming in and telling us what we do wrong! It's been nice guys but I am takng a numbers' thread vacation! I.Am.Done!You are one of the most important people here. You're right about what you say and PLEASE don't let one or two people make you stay away. PLEASE. csharpminor I loved your post! My thoughts exactly about HOW Adam sings his songs. And for the record I don't hear show-tuney on NCOE.

----TSP is out of top 50 on Oricon Overall Albums Chart this week, so...no published sales figure. But Adam holds at #15 on non-Japanese Albums Chart; based on Norah Jones's position on Overall Chart, #48 and 2079 copies sold, and her position on non-Japanese Chart, #11, I would guess Adam probably sold 1500 ~ 1800 last week.
(as of 12:16am MST)
----TSP #13 on UK HMV Best Sellers (Carrie #44)
----TSP # 2 on UK HMV pre-order chart
----TSP # 3 on Hot Future Releases UK Amazon
----TSP # 55 on Best Sellers UK Amazon (Carrie #47) (went up to #44 right after "BBCBreakfast")
----TSP #89 on Billboard Japan Top 100 Albums Chart (down from last week #48)
----NCOE out of Top 100 Hot Airplay Chart

The first one, as far as I understood, is updated once a week and of a more "official" character, the second allows to watch changes in spins, impact and placement happening to a song every day. The #10 song has 3,216 plays and 37.48m impacts The #20 song has 1,933 plays and 24,66m impacts NCOE is #73 and currently has 481 plays and 9.94m impacts I do not know where the 710 number is coming from but i wsh it was true)
