I honestly do get the show-tune vibe with NCOE. I can understand this. Kind of Broadway set to dance beat. It is sung very dramatic. And I wish it had a "real" bridge. Anyway, it's the single (and I do like the song) so I am supporting it. But, I wish they had gone with something fun like Naked Love, complete with the cool and current Crystal Waters part in the bridge. I don't. NCOE sounds just like a Bruno Mars song. If some are getting a Broadwayish vibe, it is because Adam's version made it that way. I guess Adam decided to make it "dramatic". (It doesn't sound that way to me!) Most of the songs on this album don't have a real bridge. That had to be intentional, right? After hearing TSP, I wondered if maybe bridges aren't in Pop songs anymore and that's why they made most of the songs with strange to non-existent bridges. Adam worked with some of the top song writers in the pop business. Surely they know how to construct good songs for Pop radio? There is no way they could put that CW bridge in Naked Love and present that to radio. I can't even imagine the jokes and laughter that would get from DJs and casual listeners. It would be brutal. :(

I guess I don't get the joke :( I thought the new bridge was pretty cool. I don't know, maybe "classic" bridges aren't in, but sometimes the bridge is my favorite part of a song.
Honestly, in terms of DJ jokes, I worry more about the "Cuckoo" in that chorus. I have yet to find anyone in my RL who hasn't found it kind of ridiculous (and not in a good way)

Don't think Adam could use it anyway without paying the original artist some fees.

I know it's borrowed (Crystal Waters), that's one of the reasons I found it so cool . That's a very current trend

There is no way they could put that CW bridge in Naked Love and present that to radio. I can't even imagine the jokes and laughter that would get from DJs and casual listeners. It would be brutal. Well, considering how much a lot of current CHR artists, especially rap/hip hop artists sample, "cough" rip off old songs, I don't see it any differently. That Black Eyed Peas song where Fergie sings the lyrics from the Dirty Dancing song is about as stupid sounding as it gets in the context of that song. But what do I know? That was a huge hit. I don't think that bridge would have been the problem. It's not that much different from lyrics in the song itself. The problem would have been RCA being willing to cough up the money to use that bridge. Considering they don't appear to cough up money for promotion itself...long shot. But lately, the more juvenile a song sounds, the better it does on CHR radio. Case in point, the recent teen invasion currently going on. ETA: Casey Abrams has 3 radio adds and Adam has two? RCA isn't even trying anymore. smh
