Well, considering how much a lot of current CHR artists, especially rap/hip hop artists sample, "cough" rip off old songs, I don't see it any differently. That Black Eyed Peas song where Fergie sings the lyrics from the Dirty Dancing song is about as stupid sounding as it gets in the context of that song. But what do I know? That was a huge hit. I don't think that bridge would have been the problem. It's not that much different from lyrics in the song itself. The problem would have been RCA being willing to cough up the money to use that bridge. Considering they don't appear to cough up money for promotion itself...long shot. But lately, the more juvenile a song sounds, the better it does on CHR radio. Case in point, the recent teen invasion currently going on. ETA: Casey Abrams has 3 radio adds and Adam has two? RCA isn't even trying anymore. smh Did you even read my comment? I didn't say there would be a problem with mashing part of an old song into a new one! Where did I say that: RCA has "coughed up money" to try and promote both of Adam's two singles, radio simply isn't going for either of these songs currntly. This is Casey A's debut week. He probably got the usual radio stations that always add the Idol songs. Casey really has nothing to do with Adam. He will probably get some adds over the next couple of weeks. What does it matter? RCA is trying, they just took out an add on Allaccess this week, even though the song has been standing still for weeks. We have no idea of what RCA is or isn't doing behind the scenes. |

Just an FYI and an IMHO, Casey Abrahams new album and this song are awesome! Was not a big fan on Idol but I think he has done himself proud! This single is as catchy as hell!

All these months I have read in Adamtopia (17452 times and usually by the same people) that BTIKM and NCOE are boring, with bad production, not suitable for radio and that they shouldn't even be included in trespassing. I have read that BTIKM has too much range and Adam sounds like a woman and it didn't go well because obviously the audience didn't like it. (The audience never heard it but we won't let that small detail ruin our explanation and the conclusion that it simply is not the PERFECT pop song "stronger" by K.Clarkson is.) Now I also discover that NCOE is sung in the wrong way and sounds like a show tune. I have no idea how can someone decide that those are the reasons for the problems with the radio when it is obvious (to me) that a song that is played isn't necessarily good and a song that isn't played isn't necessarily bad not to mention the other factors(luck, timing, competition, exposure besides radio,trends,etc). (DJs who say Adam has one testicle while Adam is their guest at their radio station must be details too.) All these months I chose not to comment but I have to say that I find it insulting to Adam to suggest WHAT to sing and (especially as a musician myself) I find it extremely insulting to suggest, to a musician of his level, HOW to sing it. What he sings and how he sings are WHO HE IS as a musician. If you say to me "I am just trying to explain why radio doesn't play him" I'll say 1)Adam is perfectly capable of understanding what he sings, how he sings, how he sounds. He decides how much he wants to fit in or how much to be different and when to do the one and when the other. 2)Read 2nd paragraph again. I'm sorry if I sound judgmental. I wanted to share my opinion and to do so I have to disagree strongly to things that are posted by other members. By the way, NCOE will be a hit but we will have to wait untill around November for it to peak.  |

Thank you csharpminor, for posting this. I read (lurk) at this post every day but have stopped recently because it has become one long rant and very critical of Adam. I have been afraid to speak my mind because I have done it before and been extremely smacked down. I hope you won't be, because the points you have made about the demeaning of Adam's judgement and choices are very valid. I also agree that NCEO will be a hit, just takes time.

By the way, NCOE will be a hit but we will have to wait untill around November for it to peak. Csharpminor--agree so much with your whole post, but especially this part!!! I think the song will pick back up and that there is a plan for it to do so. Adam doesn't seem at all worried. I think we always want instant gratification, but most songs take forever to gain steam on radio and get a lot of play. Considering Adele is only on her fourth single, I think we're expecting too much too soon. This album has lots more to come and it will be played out over the next year to year and a half, I think.
