I have learned a lot about Queen since being an Adam fan. I knew some of their famous songs but didn't know who was in the group, not even Freddie. I knew they were iconic--just didn't know much about them. I was as much impressed by the band as by Adam. Roger and his son did a great job, and Brian was astounding. The keyboardist and bassist were fabulous also. I'm not usually into being blown away by LOUD rock bands. But, for me, there was something different going on at this concert. The level of the musicianship was almost shocking to me. I actually liked the loudness because it was tasteful and musical and skillful, not just loud. Add to that Mr. Lambert, and I just can't get over it. I've never been so thrilled to "go" to a concert before. And, I'm sure you noticed, it didn't have any dancers, half-nakedness, trapeze artists, or banter between songs to keep us (me) entertain to the fullest. (Not that there is anything bad about the other things.) It was just great music performed by great musicians, with some lights thrown in for fun. The Queen team did a great job of putting that together. I'm going to go watch it again. I have NOTHING on my schedule today. Well nothing except practicing my violin, which is really hard to do with being all hyped up about the concert. The switch from Queen to Beethoven is really jarring. It's because, if I may insert my non musical expert opinion, the Queen songs are more melodic than most Rock songs! They are almost Rock opera-ish! So true. I forgot to mention the great music in addition to the musicianship.

They're wrong, you're right. It's a duet Are you saying that PR sang the first part and Freddie sang the other 2 parts??? Freddie sings the first and third line, Paul sings the second, the crowd do the fourth line first and then Paul sings it riffing on it a little In the DVD version I have anyway!

I love this google translation: Queen Group, in collaboration with the young performer Adam Lambert tore to shreds the main stage in Kiev. In the heart of Euro 2012, a charity concert dedicated to the fight against AIDS. The legendary Brian May, Roger Taylor and singer number one in the U.S. Adam Lambert made a bright show in the Independence Square. More than two-hour concert with all the legendary songs of the team ;D ;D ;D Well, he's certainly "singer number one" to me!

Regarding the QPR Bo Rhap -- there is an alternating arrangement that was used for a large concert -- I do not remember which one and thought it was Rio. Not sure it matters that much because the only thing that was similar was the arrangement -- not the vocals. I was never a fan of QPR, but I love Queenbert -- particularly the second half of last night's concert.
ETA: It is the arrangement they used in Rio -- like the rest of that tour -- 4 parts, two by PR. Hard to tell with that crappy video. I saw it live, not in Rio, and it was very similar to last night's arrangement except Freddie video played the whole time vs. the way the video was used in Kiev -- Freddie was only there when they used his vocals.
And, of course, Adam was born to sing that song.

Yes, they did a duet! The way Brian and Roger fused Adam and Freddie into this song was nothing short of brilliant! We were discussing it at the end of last night's thread Does anyone know if they did it this way with Paul Rodgers also? Yes, they did something similar with Paul Rogers -- but it was no so seemlessly integrated. I can't listen to this now -- but I think this is a sample of when they did it: Q3, PR only sang this at the end "Nothing really matters to me" That's IT. So it was right, on Q+PR concert, they played Freddie's video, Freddie sang this song all by himself.

In what song do you think it is that Brian May "forgot to play"?

There is a DVD of it, and it is clear. I saw Queen+PR live and this was new video and a new arrangement for Bo Rhap but not the first time they did this. There is a very famous version of it with Queen with video Freddie + live Elton John singing parts.

If I'm not mistaken Queen is the first and only rock band who created this kind of classic rock songs.. Rock Operatic songs .. which is followed by Muse abit ??? ??? and that's why their songs are perfect fit for Adam's voice.. ;D ;D ;D

In what song do you think it is that Brian May "forgot to play"? I thought it was Another One Bites the Dust. And for me, today will be another down the rabbit hole day. I want to watch the concert again and check out reviews. July will be a killer with 5 more Adam/Queen concerts. My guess is I will get absolutely nothing done for about 10 to 12 days.
