No problem - I know it was a bit lengthy I always try to sum up at the end

This thread is probably dead but wanted to comment on note Talon made re defensiveness of Adam fans.
I do agree, it shouls be ok for people not to like "him" aka his voice, performing persona etc without we as Adam fans being defensive or taking it personally. Right now that "not like" is too often accompanied by some unpleasant, vitriolic and homophobic elements - which isn't ok. Is fine if he's not your cup of tea (WGWGs work my last nerve so I can sympathize) but isn't ok to wrap dislike in hate and I think it's that element that ramps up Glamberts overall response.
Thanks for participating on this forum, is nice to have a different perspective around the place.

I agree and understand that element of it. Any time someone uses homophobic elements than vitriolic responses are appropriate in my view but if it's the garden variety strong dislike comments than those should roll off your back.. It may be colorful (like someone saying his voice sounds like a cat in a blender) or whatever...yeah it's extremely OTT but it's not something to take personally. For example if someone said that about Freddie, I'd shake my head in wonder at their taste and move on...it wouldn't even be worth arguing to me and it's quite possible the exaggeration is there just to push buttons. I mean it's childish to say stuff like that anyways and trollish but to get defensive is to give them what they want and ensure they do it again

Talon, I don't even know how much to thank you. I saved that post and will read and digest it with care. While it is easy to get the basic song lists on the albums, it is so important to get a bit of context and you have put a ton of work into your response and I will take an in depth walk through what you have written and might eventually pm you with a question or so.
I also want to say that I commend you for the level headed posts you are making on both sides of the forum-world. Actually, while last week a lot of posts were flying back and forth on the Queenforums, right now, that does not seem to even be the mood, I see a lot of resignation over there and that makes me sad too. There is not much discussion about the concerts that happened the last week anymore and the Polish interview was met with almost complete silence.
I was never thinking about posting there, don't know enough about Queen to feel I could belong, but I really wanted to read and felt the hostility building for a while. Right now though, especially with the background info you gave us I realize more how things are looking from the other side of the fence and that there are people there seriously struggling with their own perception of what Queen should be and what it presently seems to be. The last thing they clearly need is more involvement from Adam fans, that's for sure. So I am glad you joined us and are so helpful in giving us a bit more insight here on Atop.
I am wondering whether we could get a Queen specific thread in the other art recommendation section of this site (will ask the moderators) and then we could copy your post and few previous ones there. More people will have questions or want to check things out at a later point in time and here in news it will be lost and also not always fitting with the Adamnews purpose of the thread. So perhaps we can give this topic an appropriate home. I will ask and sorry in case I caused any trouble over here in the adamnews section already for a few. Not my intent at all.
Finally Rabbitrabbit, thanks for your answers too, I'm ready to take the next steps and looking forward to it.

Yeah...it's kind of strange over there in a time that should be...if not joyous at least excitable. Hopefully talk of some potentially interesting archival releases can provide some balance for those not interested in the project! Feel free to PM anytime....As long as it was it was still a very basic, general overview. I have no problem tailoring responses to the individual

I mean it's childish to say stuff like that anyways and trollish but to get defensive is to give them what they want and ensure they do it again Ahh but it seems they've decided to move on and scale back on the bashing so I say "mission accomplished" Wasn't very difficult TBH. [/IMG] It's pretty LULZY that they think Glamberts are on their site? About 5 people? I see some all "who is this awful swarm person, probably a troll" and trying to figure out if I'm a Glambert for real. Um, hello? GOOGLE people. And the funniest part is, the post of mine they deleted told them specifically they could find me on Queerty. Too funny. You would have no way of knowing, but if we decided to bother mobilizing they wouldn't know what hit them. I don't mean Atop peeps specifically I mean the aggregate. This ridiculous review drew 700 comments and the editor was so floored he wrote a review of the review and [fake non] apologized for the original author LOL. Then HIS review of the review took a bunch of hits, too. hahaha "Adam Lambert, Nyquil made of skin shaped like a black light with a glued-on wig made of spiky black sanctimony..."GOOD TYMEZ! :4OMG: blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2010/09/last_night_adam_lambert_at_hob.phpYou really need to go read our comments from the oldest first some are HYSTERICAL. We have some funny fans in Adamland. Our fanbase crashes site servers regularly. Adam official RCA told us that his site is their most challenging, has way more traffic than any other including Michael Jackson (before he died, obvously). QOL got off so easily! I assume out of respect for B&R&A. One of my mottos is "Don't shake the apple tree if you don't want to get hit on the head". This is not our first time at this rodeo. :lninja:

Nah they still bash - they get tired of it for a bit and it will go in cycles it always does. But the mods try to make it friendly for both sides...the easy thing is that with the separate sections it makes it a ton easier...Another major reason it's slowed to be honest is that some of the major OTT pro-Adam posters have slowed too. It seemed to me that both sides ramped each other up and up and up so more outlandish trolling happend from each side. WHen it dialed back down you were left with those who were able to discuss it civily *Shrug* Not as high in the ratings as drama though, huh?
