adam would kill to have Justin's material though. his last three singles have been really good. I really don't want to like jb, but I couldn't resist with this last album. it's all about the song in pop. very little about the vocal. if you can carry a tune and have a great song, you're golden. adam's material has never quite lived up to expectations. almost. really close. just not quite there I'm not sure actually if Adam would kill to have JB's material, but I have to agree that his latest music is pretty good, at least the recorded songs. (Oops, I thought I would never say that in my lifetime). What I don't quite get is the fact that several artists with the same or similar production team can have such different success with their music. I don't know, sizzling, I heard a JB song on the radio the other day, and I thought it was terrible, in my opinion.. Each to their own...

speaking of giving some love, how is it a fanbase that can afford to travel all over the world for multiple shows cannot raise $10,000 for clean water? $4200 in 5 days, seriously this is sad. my.charitywater.org/lambert/adamI didn't realize what it was. I thought it was another greeting card offer that would never get delivered. I didn't really look at it. Someone (Adam) should publicize it with the charity angle front and center. I wouldn't want to send it to anyone (a bit goofy for me) but I could send it to my other email address.

satisfied, every time I read your screen name I hear this in my mind: Thanks for posting that, red panda! My god he looks so young in that video. Seeing the name Planet Fierce makes me realize how much time has passed. This is the wildest trip! Don't need to know the destination - I'm here for the ride. That's really what my screen name means. I'm satisfied no matter where we end up.

Cassie, your comment reminded me of a funny recurring bit on The Good Wife. One of the judges (played by Ana Gasteyer) who presides over many of the cases featured on the show insists that every remark by every lawyer must include the phrase "in my opinion." This gets to sounding really silly after awhile. (See clip below for an example.) Perfect! In my opinion. LOL!!! Am just in the process of of watching the whole series through Netflix! What genius! It's especially funny when they have to whisper to new attorneys "in my opinion"

Cassie, I don't think Bieber is actually playing the piano in that clip. Not saying he can't play but it just doesn't look to me like he is. The timing of those notes is very jarring against what the vocal is doing, it would be hard to concentrate on both things at once. Can you imagine Adam behind a piano? He's much better on top of it. Ok, now you have to post all videos with Adam on top of a piano! MTN from Glee, soething from pre-Idol also i think. I'd do it but too hard from my cell. Ha, Dancy, at first I thought you were in jail! I'm scrolling too fast.

So why do you suppose that is? He had 2 months with some of the most successful pop writers and producers available. Is it the actual goal? Is he looking for the wrong audience?? I just listened to Adele on that special and most of the songs on 25 are really good...and they are not all written by her...Max Martin is in there, Ryan Tedder, Bruno Mars team.....I forget but several that have worked with Adam. I don't agree that "Adam would kill to have Justin's material". I think it's just that Adam prefers his songs to sound the way that they do. Like he said, his songs are usually about his voice as the focus, and he chose the songs on TOH because he felt that it brought across what he wanted to express, plus he liked them a lot. I wouldn't dare say that Adam would prefer to do songs like What Do You Mean or Sorry or Love Yourself, because those songs are more focused on the music and not the voice. (Put it this way, r eplace the vocals on those JB songs and those songs are equally catchy.) And perhaps that is one of the many reasons why Bieber's music caters more to the teen demographic (which includes me, but I love all kinds of music so I'm an outlier), because they seem to prefer good electronic dance music tunes. Such as GT, and many many other popular EDM songs out there. I can agree with this. I listened to the other song from JB you posted and had no desire to hear Adam sing it. It was a conversation in a singsong voice pitched at teen girls in an easy to sing range. No pathos, no despair, no rejuvenation. Very two dimensional in both voice and in ideas, it's either here or there but nothing in between or around or ambiguity. And I think it shows his lack of real life experiences, he's never had to experience nuance. I don't get the sense that anyone has ever come to him for advice, has ever leaned on him for emotional support, and I don't think he knows how to rely on someone else either. And so it makes his music very bubblegum (IMO), very black and white, I'm right you're wrong type of stuff which fits right in with a lot of young people's view of the world as an idyllic pasture unless you step in a turd. On the other hand Adam's voice and view of the world are much more three dimensional. There are hills and valleys, some unexpected crevasses and occasional mountains. Life's not all rosy but then neither is it all dark. It includes that gray area that's expressed in the ALN video. The acceptance of ambiguity as ok. And an inclusive we walk this path together vibe versus it's either you or me attitude. So instead of bubblegum it's crackerjack. Crunchy popcorn covered in sweet stickiness with a prize in the middle.

Would love to hear your analysis of this JB performance as well, cassie! I didn't expect him to sound mostly in tune and even go up an octave at 2:15. Will check that thread for your reply! Done. adamtopia.com/post/698371/thread
