This is an economic issue for gay people.' We should have the same right as a straight couple to have a tax exemption....  Actually, as an electively single person, I take issue with the idea of tax advantages for married people. Isn't that just discriminatory social engineering, similar in some regards to the opposition of gay marriage? I say do away with tax advantages which are given based on marital status. My opinion only, feel free to disagree ;D [edited to add: of course I am not trying to say that the possible tax advantage realized by legally married couples is the only issue at stake for gay couples wishing to marry-- I was making a small point about discrimination. Back to pretty pictures now...) |
