This honestly makes me feel better . So thank you!! I do wonder about a third album---because they are possibly going to have to completely retool how they work things with Adam. Luckily, as I said on some other crappy board that shall remain nameless and that I really should avoid at all costs, I do believe that RCA sees a value and potential in Adam that they didn't/don't see with some other Idol alums. Of course they do! I'm not worried about a third album with RCA. Adam is getting one. I pretty much expected this with the third single. It's basically a touring single and one that can be used at various promo events to help sell the album. This situation isn't unique to just Adam. PDs simply don't have room in their playlists for third singles after two that haven't been hits. It's the reality of the situation and has nothing to do with any of them being "against Adam". The same thing would happen with any artist. It is what it is. Adam is still with a major record label. They aren't going to drop him. They do need to start thinking of ways to market him and reach out to fans outside of the fanbase he has at this point. The time to prepare for era #3 is NOW! Not two months before his next album drops. I agree. And if he is doing the Jingle Ball thing, it is nice to have a single to promo (even if it's basically not supported) I really, really hope that Adam has people working now on new strategies for the next era.

so, we have the label screwing up big time, from timing to single choice to inability to arrange for proper promo ...and after that blaming the artist for not selling??? they have a gem of an album in their hands
Is that how this industry works?
Where are they to give us a clue of what is the best strategy with the new single and the EP? They have the sizable fan base ready and willing to spend $s to help the album and total silence on their part... WTF!!!

[/IMG] music-mix.ew.com/2012/09/28/justin-bieber-ticket-scalping-nashville/
10,000 of the tickets did go to the public by the way of mostly presales. This shows that it pays to get in on the presales! Of course, those aren't usually the best seats. Around 3,000 were held out for resale by JB's people. This is probably why so many great tickets would show up on places like Stubhub immediately or before the tickets even went on sale for Adam's past shows. Adam's people (i.e. Adam) was making some nice change on the best seats. Instead of being upset with the scalpers in the past, maybe we should have been upset with the system that allows the artists to make EVEN more off of their ticket prices.

Like where? I'm not saying it didn't happen but that's a pretty random statement to throw out there. If you are talking "presales," they rarely offer the best tickets. Considering the size of Adam's venues & prices, compared to JB's or Swifty's(1000s of seats), not sure Adam would have that much to make from holding out a few rows of seats

QQ and KuGou are the 2 biggest music sites in China, and here are the current placements for Adam:
----- #3 QQ Hottest Western Male Artists
----- #1 KuGou Hottest Western Male Artists
(okay, pay really close attention to #7--- that's Beethoven! )
UPDATE: still at #1 but Beethoven is catching up at #5 now. (only in China, an 18th century classical musician/composer is ranking on a Pop chart!)
----- #43 KuGou Hottest Singers Overall (Adam is the only westerner in the top 50)
----- #15 KuGou Hottest Songs
The WWFM duet with Zhangwei is at #22, and Trespassing is the only other western song within top 50!
UPDATE: TSP now at #13 and the duet moved up to #19.
ETA: FYE and GNL were both officially released in China before, but only in a very few selected locations without any promo. Hopefully, TSP will make a huge splash now with Adam's visibility soaring in China, once the Chinese government gives the blessing!

Now if he, and his fans, are satisfied with no radio, playing in smallish venues for the rest of his career, with the exception of a Queen appearance maybe once a year...I thought Adam wanted more? I thought that was the point of putting out an album "to appeal to radio." I mean, if he couldn't get anywhere in the UK, with Shoshanna working like she did, the publicity from the Queen shows, his second "debut" in the UK flopped, big time. NCOE went nowhere and US fans were a big component of the UK sales. This whole era just seems to be one big clusterfuck as far as promotion goes.
Whoa! Where do I start?? but first, hello! Long time no see!
I'm only gonna respond to the last paragraph. I've never talked to Adam in person and asked him what he truly wanted in life and his career, the closest I've got was his answer in some interviews: happiness and longevity! As a fan, I adore & admire the person he is and am entranced by his enormous talent and charisma, and I would love more than anything for the entire world to recognize that talent as well. But, often times major success takes time, if Adam couldn't make a big splash on the US/UK/DE radio this era, then, there's always the next era. If peeps are out looking for some stars with bigger or more instant successes and gratifications to stan, I'm sure there're plenty on both sides of the pond.
I wouldn't call all the GNT venues were all smallish. Adam is not at a point to be able to have a stadium tour in the US, yet, which very few artists are nowadays, but he's more than ease filling up a medium size venue to amphitheater depending on the locations. And, internationally, his star keeps soaring in places where concerts are extremely lucrative. He might not have cracked the UK again this time around nor enjoyed the "WWFM" kind of success in Germany, but I wouldn't call it a flop just because it wasn't a hit, there're many shades between the extremes, also as you stated above, "this whole era just seems to be one big clusterfuck as far as promotion goes". As a matter of fact, I'm expecting big venues on int'l leg of TSP tour in many selected locations, in addition to the ones he's already done during GNT.
LASTLY, I DON'T THINK MUSICIANS/ARTISTS CREATING MUSIC AND PUTTING OUT ALBUMS ARE FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPEALING TO THE RADIO! Undoubtedly, Radio is still a very important tool to promote music but radio is not the be all and end all of artists' career. I can go on and on about this topic but it's becoming a really long-assed post already and it's my bed time! We need to face facts to change them. I've never talked to Adam in person, but denying he wanted pop celebrity is unrealistic. Denying that this era has been a disappointment, that radio is crucial, will get us nowhere. Radio is the reason why this era is a disappointment. Its refusal to play Adam has consequences beyond sales here and now, and will compromise the next tour and the next album. Lower sales here lower sales abroad; see what Shoshanna said about Germany, the fourth largest music market in the world. It's a domino effect, a clusterfuck. He needs a hit, and tsp is his last chance to get one. We need to request and, as someone else said, blow it up online. Something is better than nothing, and so far, other than PLL, its own merits, and the fans, tsp has nothing going for it.
