If Jordin Sparks is safe with RCA and working on her 3rd album after her 2nd sold only 177,000 copies in the US (the rest of over half a million total came from int'l sales), then I wouldn't worry about Adam too much.
And in comparison, Daughtry's last album sold 469,000 copies since its Nov. 2011 release, and I highly doubt he's in any danger of being dropped.
TSP is in its 5th month, estimated 269,000 copies sold worldwide, a new single just out already making splashes albeit not in the US, yet, and a world tour next year, maybe more domestic promo that we are not aware of....
And, as bullsfan pointed out this is the NUMBERS thread...

Listen guys - you know what we CAN do? We can blow this shit up online. Play the lyric video, play it on spotify, and whatever other streaming sites you use, hit the Sessions video on your local iheart station. Focus all streaming efforts on Trespassing. This we can control. We can't control the label or radio. Worth repeating!

I do wonder about a third album---because they are possibly going to have to completely retool how they work things with Adam. Luckily, as I said on some other crappy board that shall remain nameless and that I really should avoid at all costs, I do believe that RCA sees a value and potential in Adam that they didn't/don't see with some other Idol alums.

imo, RCA will have to rethink their whole marketing approach and philosophy which is very old school. Adam is a unique artist, not just because he's a very openly gay major label artist which has its double-edged sword effect, but an artist who has so much marketing potential and appeal in various forms which hasn't even been fully tapped, yet! and, I think RCA recognized that hopefully they will learn from this era, meanwhile, they're really pushing for int'l sales which will be the bulk of the total sales, and then Adam will tour and make the best out of this current project.

bullsfan, what do you know about B96 radio? Adam just started following them Really??? That is interesting. B96 is Top 40 but has always been more on the urban side (as opposed to the Chicago KISS station 103.5). But, they have slowly become more straight pop and probably have a typical KISS sound at this point. This has probably been the least "Adam friendly" station in Chicago, although he did visit briefly back when he did the spring radio tour. I think they have a Jingle Ball. A follow by Adam might mean that he will be there? I don't know what else it could be. So, I'm officially excited. Adam must be following them for a reason, right? Spins on this station would be great eta--heck, I will FLAIL if this station adds Trespassing! And I am all for Adam doing every Jingle Ball he can (if that is what this is about)

Of course they do! I'm not worried about a third album with RCA. Adam is getting one. I pretty much expected this with the third single. It's basically a touring single and one that can be used at various promo events to help sell the album. This situation isn't unique to just Adam. PDs simply don't have room in their playlists for third singles after two that haven't been hits. It's the reality of the situation and has nothing to do with any of them being "against Adam". The same thing would happen with any artist. It is what it is. Adam is still with a major record label. They aren't going to drop him. They do need to start thinking of ways to market him and reach out to fans outside of the fanbase he has at this point. The time to prepare for era #3 is NOW! Not two months before his next album drops.
