Can we get a do-over? Or, RCA could just hire me---I have lots of ideas Bullsfan, as a sane, logical, intelligent person who knows what draws people to Adam, what how hard he works and how he does everything so well, and by knowing there is an audience of young people (not just the much-derided and mean-spirited term of sparkle cows) who would absolutely love Adam's excitement, stage precense, showmanship, and his talents, I really think they should! Eta. Edited for coherence. Getting late here!

Now if he, and his fans, are satisfied with no radio, playing in smallish venues for the rest of his career, with the exception of a Queen appearance maybe once a year...I thought Adam wanted more? I thought that was the point of putting out an album "to appeal to radio." I mean, if he couldn't get anywhere in the UK, with Shoshanna working like she did, the publicity from the Queen shows, his second "debut" in the UK flopped, big time. NCOE went nowhere and US fans were a big component of the UK sales. This whole era just seems to be one big clusterfuck as far as promotion goes.
Whoa! Where do I start?? but first, hello! Long time no see!
I'm only gonna respond to the last paragraph. I've never talked to Adam in person and asked him what he truly wanted in life and his career, the closest I've got was his answer in some interviews: happiness and longevity! As a fan, I adore & admire the person he is and am entranced by his enormous talent and charisma, and I would love more than anything for the entire world to recognize that talent as well. But, often times major success takes time, if Adam couldn't make a big splash on the US/UK/DE radio this era, then, there's always the next era. If peeps are out looking for some stars with bigger or more instant successes and gratifications to stan, I'm sure there're plenty on both sides of the pond.
I wouldn't call all the GNT venues were all smallish. Adam is not at a point to be able to have a stadium tour in the US, yet, which very few artists are nowadays, but he's more than ease filling up a medium size venue to amphitheater depending on the locations. And, internationally, his star keeps soaring in places where concerts are extremely lucrative. He might not have cracked the UK again this time around nor enjoyed the "WWFM" kind of success in Germany, but I wouldn't call it a flop just because it wasn't a hit, there're many shades between the extremes, also as you stated above, "this whole era just seems to be one big clusterfuck as far as promotion goes". As a matter of fact, I'm expecting big venues on int'l leg of TSP tour in many selected locations, in addition to the ones he's already done during GNT.
LASTLY, I DON'T THINK MUSICIANS/ARTISTS CREATING MUSIC AND PUTTING OUT ALBUMS ARE FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPEALING TO THE RADIO! Undoubtedly, Radio is still a very important tool to promote music but radio is not the be all and end all of artists' career. I can go on and on about this topic but it's becoming a really long-assed post already and it's my bed time!

oh, stardust, here is a site which supposedly displays all the radio stations in the world that play Adam's music:
tunein.com/radio/Adam-Lambert-m466581/
maybe, we could have it displayed on our front page of the thread?
Thx. ETA: although I have no knowledge how up-to-date this site is or how frequently it's being updated...

Listen guys - you know what we CAN do? We can blow this shit up online. Play the lyric video, play it on spotify, and whatever other streaming sites you use, hit the Sessions video on your local iheart station. Focus all streaming efforts on Trespassing.
This we can control. We can't control the label or radio.

Since things are not going exactly swimmingly with radio atm I was surprised there were no recent posts on the Dark Side. Well I see they're here instead. ;D
I'm disappointed too, but I'm here for the long run. Lack of radio success & super-star status does not diminish his appeal to me in any way. Nor does it diminish his talent. He will always be an extraordinary artist - one that stands out from the pack. Degrees of success doesn't change that.
I'm not saying anyone here feels differently. I just know that a few ppl elsewhere appear to be ready to throw in the towel because of the frustration.

But, I do worry about him continuing on with RCA. I think it's ok to discuss this here---this is the numbers thread. And this is the reality of the situation right now. I have to wonder what incentive RCA would have to give him a third album at this point. He isn't selling albums or singles, really. As awesome as he is, if he isn't making them money, will they let him go?

Below are convos between me & tigerlily back when KA got dropped by RCA and the surge of "worrying" and "angst" happened, and seems quite fitting here since we're rehashing it again.
If it's compared to FYE going into its 5th month of release, then not as well, especially in some markets where it should've totally done much better, but TSP did pick up some other markets where FYE didn't and will continue to do well with help of a new single on the radio and other promo events, and...there's still the world tour next year which surely will spike up the sales too!
Besides, I think Adam is not quite out of his first 3 year "360" contract, yet, which means the label gets a piece of everything with his name on it, including his concert appearances. So, I wouldn't worry at all that RCA is not milking the cow!
I don't think Adam has a 360 contract. I'm thinking that a while ago Adam answered "No" to that question on Twiiter or to a fan question in one of the thousands of interviews he's done, but don't ask me to find it!! LOL A conservative estimate could easily get you at 160K for the album in the US and the same internationally. The album could easily end up with around 400K worldwide total sales the first year, and that's if this third single doesn't take off and get to 10M AI. When you look at the other Idols who have been dropped this year, you have: Kris at 25K, Cook at 130K in 15 months, and Kellie Pickler at 77K. These three had no presence in any market outside of the US. Their singles followed the same pattern as far as sales totals and no interest outside of the US. How posters at MJs can believe that 400K is comparable in any way to 25K is beyond me! That's not even touching on the revenue from singles, remixes, ringtones, merchandising and the use of Adam's music in commercials and ads all over the world. Not to mention, the fact that there is worldwide recognition and potential in many directions for future revenue. (I had a post about this very thing in The Dark Thread recently, when comparisons were being made to Cook, so I won't rehash it all. ) All this to say, the posters at MJs are just bitter and are basically spinning non-facts and illogical reasoning to further their agenda. I sympathize with the fans of those that were dropped, but they need to just leave it at that and worry about their own special snowflake instead of dragging Adam into it every time. and my response:
ETA: Per unofficial world charts ("mediatraffic.de",etc.), TSP has sold 269,000 copies worldwide during the past 4 months. yeah, I know it's not the official RCA press release numbers but that's the closest we got and I take it as a very good estimate!
