Elvis Presley was signed with RCA for over 21 years, and is still selling for that label 34 years after his death. Now thats longevity !!!! Elvis had immense loyalty to anyone who gave him a break. Somehow, not sure why, but I seem to sense that Adam has the same sense of loyalty that Elvis had..... Unfortunately, Elvis also made a contract with Col. Parker, his manager, with just a handshake to 50% of his earnings...that's why he was always in those crappy movies and almost being broke at the end of his life. Elvis is my 2nd favorite artist of all time, but it broke my heart to find out how he was used & abused by the people around him. He always trusted his manager but was unhappy with Col. Parker's decisions - decisions made so Col. Parker could make the most money....sad but true! |

Ummm, yeah. Not as bad as I thought it might be. The singing is sorta, kinda, close to actually on pitch for a majority of the notes. Some cringing notes to be sure. But more than autotune for pitch, is the amateurish tone and quality of her singing. No resonance, no richness, no warmth, kinda like fingernails on chalkboard. Very much how any normal,l untrained, ungifted person might sound singing. Karaoke? Reminds me a bit of the Adamtopians singing along with Adam at the recent DVD viewing party. If you want to appreciate how damned good Adam sings, listen to his unprocessed vocals with what is called a "dry feed." Adam has mentioned that no singer sounds good in those situations, without the natural resonance of a performance hall, but, I maintain that he does. The Mad World that I posted earlier on this thread is an example of Adam live without any tweaking of the sound of his voice. So are also many of his promo performances for FYE. As we all know, he has the goods naturally. The great ear, the natural resonance in his body, the technique to use that resonance to the max, the performance experience to manipulate the voice to get the desired sound in any number of environments. Or, just listen to his Idol audition. No autotune, no reverb, no electronic enhancement, no backing track, no instruments, just the pure voice. He has an extraordinary instrument and he is a master at using it. Ke$ha sounds like tens of thousands of others who sing along with the hits on the radio in their living rooms. Sigh. |
