Good article midwifespal and I agree with almost every point made. I posted the Slate article because I think that the onslaught of insane Republican media can sometimes leave their viewers a little skewed about reality and it never hurts to remind them of common sense. Here is a particularly good article from The Atlantic, 'How Conservative Media Lost to the MSM and Failed the Rank and File' www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/11/how-conservative-media-lost-to-the-msm-and-failed-the-rank-and-file/264855/Obama is a progressive and I am so happy he has the next four years to cement the amazing work that he has done. OT, but are you going to see Grace Potter at Stubbs? I am going Friday night.

This battle does feel a lot like the battle we fight every day for Adam. Barack/Michelle Adam/Sauli so many of us have held them in our hearts as symbols of a changing world. And it feels so good to win for a change. Next it is Adam's turn.
Where do we vote to get him to sing for the inauguration?? And I am only partially kidding.

I have already tweetd this. @brackobama When making plans for your Inauguration's entertainers, plz consider a young out and proud gay man, Adam Lambert. TY!

Minnesota voted Obama and against the ammendment banning same sex marriage but district 6 still voted for Bachmann (although by only a couple thousand votes, much less than expected earlier in the race) for a few reasons. Bachmann had 11 million dollars more than Graves, who largely funded his campaign. She started with massive name recognition to begin with. The districts were recently redrawn making it mostly a conservative rural district. You can read more about it here if you want. I live a block into her district. If I could move a few streets over I would. I'll keep it civil about how I feel about her and say nothing more.... minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2012/11/06/politics/sixth-district-bachmann-graves/My condolences on your street location; you have my sympathy, remember that I live in Texas. Bachmann's reelection has been one of the definite disappointments of this election but I console myself with these facts: - In 2010, Bachmann won with a 12.72 percentage lead.
- In 2012, despite recent gerrymandering to her favor, she only had a 1.2 % lead.
- Hopefully, it scared the shit out of her.
- The overall loss of the Tea Party in national elections will limit her voice
- and Republican party leaders have even less incentive to put up with her

I am so impressed with Minnesota. They voted to throw the constitutional amendment out that would allow one man and one woman to marry. Three other states approved marriage equality. The country is getting smarter. Legalizing pot. I never thought I would live long enough to see that. I am so happy Obama won. I am so happy there is an openly lesbian senator. I love Obama and Michelle almost as much as I love Adam and Sauli. Love my state, legalizing pot and same sex marriage [/IMG]

Yeah, the timing of the Adam/Obama rise did coincide pretty sweetly for us fans, huh. It makes me smile because I always think of Neil's early post on his old website, before anyone knew who Adam was: My brother is on American Idol today
by Neil on Jan 20, 2009
My brother Adam is going to be on American Idol Season 8. Perhaps I’m biased, but I think he should win.
It’s already a done deal, really. The rest of them should just go home. A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N I-D-O-L contains the word ‘Adam’ first of all, and unless there’s a guy competing this year named Ericn Iol, I really think that he’s got this thing locked up. Plus, the world greets Obama and Adam on the same day. Coincidence? Not a chance.
I encourage all of you (5 people who read this) to watch at 8pm PST on Fox. It’s gonna to be grand. Feel free to add your comments about his performance to this post so I can ride his coattails to e-fame. I’m a social network climber, big deal. ;D ;D ;D 8-) As to Adam's performing at the Inauguration? No TRESPASSING, yeah, MY ASS! ps--Linda, didn't know about the Stubb's show; sounds awesome, but unfortunately don't think I can make it...

Unfortunately, I think something like an inauguration is one of those events where Adam's AMA performance has made it virtually impossible for Adam to ever get an invite to sing, as much as Obama may be open to it. He could possibly get an opportunity at one of the corresponding concerts/events, if his management kicks things into gear and pushes him past the usual suspects.
