Unfortunately, I think something like an inauguration is one of those events where Adam's AMA performance has made it virtually impossible for Adam to ever get an invite to sing, as much as Obama may be open to it.He could possibly get an opportunity at one of the corresponding concerts/events, if his management kicks things into gear and pushes him past the usual suspects.
I disagree. The AMAs are such old news. I honestly don't think it would be an issue at all. The only challenge I see is getting the Obama team to consider Adam out of all the many performers who would love to be part of the inauguration. I'm going to send a tweet with a link to his Miramar Star-Spangled Banner performance. Couldn't hurt! |

Thanks for this thread Q3! So much to be happy about today! I have been feeling a cultural shift approaching for some time now and maybe the nation wasn't ready enough in 2008 (recession or not). I really believe it is possible for Obama to lead us even further into becoming a more progressive America. Thank you for the great links Linda, MWP, and others. It is so nice to be able to share the moment with my Atop family. I, too, have a divided household and am the minority in my community (Indiana  , BUT YAY Donnelly :Clap: ). |

I have already @brackobama When making plans for your Inauguration's entertainers, plz consider a young out and proud gay man, Adam Lambert. TY! What would be really cool is if Adam and the band could provide music at one of the Inauguration parties! I know other bands have done this before-- and could you just see the Obamas getting down to Trespassing?

This battle does feel a lot like the battle we fight every day for Adam. Barack/Michelle Adam/Sauli so many of us have held them in our hearts as symbols of a changing world. And it feels so good to win for a change. Next it is Adam's turn. Where do we vote to get him to sing for the inauguration?? And I am only partially kidding. This is interesting--I heard on the NBC News tonight that Obama's reelection marks the first time we've had three two-term presidents in a row since Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe! Almost two hundred years ago!
