Just came back over here to remind myself to breathe. I live in AZ and while I do believe we will be "blue" within 10 years, it is misery here now. When you canvass in your own neighborhood, they slam the door in your face. I do phone calls from the Obama campaign site from my home phone, and have had people return calls using the "f" word in every possible way.
The calm I mentioned last night has lifted and anxiety in all its many forms has returned. But then I remember that in Oct 2006, 14 of my wonderful family and friends attended then Senator Barack Obama's book signing at a packed theater. We were all shocked that so many of us existed in AZ!
When I looked into President Obama's eyes and shook his hand, I realized that I was also looking into his soul. He is the most beautiful and decent man, and his spirit just shined for all to see. He signed every book, communicated with each of us...and for every young person he made a special and personal inscription.
Just like my love for Adam, my love for President Obama is palpable. If only we are blessed with another four years, it will mean so much to this country. People may actually have to get over their fears and recognize the doors he is opening for so many, just by being himself. I see so much in life as a grieving process...people wanting what felt safe and comfortable for them. It helps me stay somewhat compassionate - though I have a horrible habit of yelling loudly at the TV in a not very nice way to certain people. :-)
Off to the races - I mostly took the day off work, and am wearing my Adam tee shirt with some Obama buttons as I go about the rounds and try to breathe.
Love to all!

*jumps on soapbox* I'm hopeful (not) if many of the pro-Romney, Wall Street PACs have money left over, they will donate it to the victims of Sandy and/or the Red Cross. If there are any folks ( and I know I'm generalizing), who have benefitted the last four years, it's the Wall Street gang. They should throw their ill gotten gains toward the deserving and spread those bonuses around!
I think presidents should have ONE six-year term (eliminates mid-term campaigning for self) and that taxpayers should be able to choose categories where their money goes--defense, education, research, healthcare, transportation, etc. Until people can choose where the money goes instead of lobbyists, the tug of war will continue. *quits hyperventilating and jumps off soapbox.*

I just received an update on voting and so far Obama is in the lead, not a strong lead, but a lead.
What I found interesting is that married women are voting for Romney, generally according to the poll updates, but single women and younger women are voting for Obama. So what does that tell me, single women are more informed and you better believe college age kids are definitely informed and are very conscious of social issues.

... When I looked into President Obama's eyes and shook his hand, I realized that I was also looking into his soul. He is the most beautiful and decent man, and his spirit just shined for all to see. ... Just like my love for Adam, my love for President Obama is palpable. If only we are blessed with another four years, it will mean so much to this country. People may actually have to get over their fears and recognize the doors he is opening for so many, just by being himself. ... Just had to chime in and say how much this reflects how I feel, as someone who is also in a red state, but in the Cincinnati viewing area (I live five minutes from downtown Cincinnati), so we do get to see all the ads, etc. In fact, many of us here in Northern KY work for Obama in Ohio because we are a tristate area. It helps a little to know you can make some bit of difference in a state that is crucial! I also have similar feelings for the President and Adam. I feel Obama is such a strong, courageous person who has integrity and is willing to stand up for what he believes--he also is so sincere and humble, but confident He also has so much empathy--that's one of the reasons I think he is so great. Adam to me is the same way. They are both so brave in being who they are and trying to make a difference no matter what the personal cost. I love them both! I'm not sure if it means anything, but I had the best night's sleep I've had in months last night and woke up today feeling very calm. So, I'm more than optimistic that our President will get four more years decisively! For some reason, a win for Obama is tied in my mind to more positive things for Adam as well. Putting positive thoughts out to the Universe and keeping my fingers crossed, too! :D

Apparently it has been taken off line. Don't know how they figured it out, but it is an important state. Maybe recounts necessary.
