frecklesexual I don't want spoil it for you, but one day her image will be destroyed for whatever reason even if she is a saint. That's the way the media works. Nobody here is telling that she is doing something wrong. She's not. But it could be totally another way around and for many artists it would be. She is not special, she is just lucky. And in that department IMHO Adam is really lucky to. For now. spoil what for me? I don't understand this comment. You're right about the media which is why I have no investment in how Taylor (or anyone else) is treated by the media because the media and how they report has no impact on whether I'm a fan of someone or not. I wonder if the public's perception of these celebrities is shaped by the media or the media is shaped by the public's perception? |

I think I'm the wrong person to ask your question to. perhaps ask one of the people here who are shocked that Taylor has dated 13 men in 4 years? I'm with you though, I don't really much care about the personal lives of the celebrities I like as long as they aren't hurting others or breaking the law they can do whatever they like. Are people shocked or just saying the image doesn't fit what's happening IRL? what is the difference between her "image" and who she is IRL? Her image is of a girl who dates a lot of men and then writes catchy songs about them when they break up. Isn't that what her entire career and persona are based on? Is it because the media doesn't blast headlines like "SLUT Taylor Swift moves onto another victim?" that some think there is a disconnect between the image and reality? Because to me Taylor is exactly who the media shows her to be. A young successful beautiful girl who can have her pick of men and so she does.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but am very happy to see Adam's "review." Why? Hard to put into words. Adam praises many pop singers and compliments their voices. I listen to them, scratch my head, and wonder "what the hell is Adam talking about? What is Adam hearing that I am not? Cuz they are NOT what I would call 'good' singers!" Being such an exceptional and highly trained singer himself, and having worked amid other beautiful singers in musical theater, I couldn't comprehend Adam's appraisals. However, these tweets make total sense to me. And I finally understand that Adam has different criteria for what comprises a "good" singer, depending on genre. It's another example of Adam's open-minded appreciation for diversity and artistry in many different forms. And a good object lesson for a "music snob" like me to open my own mind to more variety. I was sometimes puzzled as well. Thank you for sliding these pieces of the puzzle into place for me, cassie. |
