From Brian's LettersHello Brian
I'm Melissa, I'm 17, I'm french. I wish you a good year 2013, that this year be rich in queen music. I would like to know if you think come to make concerts in france this year because I would like well to see you in concert, but I don't know if that fact left your projects for this year. I know that you and roger have to give concerts with Adam Lambert in 2012.
PS: It's really good the fight which you make in england for to save and to stop killing the badgers and the foxes. That is seen that you love the animals. Sorry for my english, I hope that you understand.
Cheers Melissa

Brian replied:
Well, thanks for writing, Melissa.
We don't have any plans to tour with Adam this year yet … but that may change ! Wishing you a great 2013 !
Bri Not a definitive but knowing Brian as I do, the way he words that is QUITE positive. So keeping fingers crossed. Thanks Talon!

Okay. So:
1) Adam last concert in Manila was in a 17K venue. He sold it out, right? And now, he only gets a 1,5K venue???? That's f*cked up. I don't understand at all.
:dunno:
2) If Brian had been sure they wouldn't be going to collaborate again this year, he would have said so. So I'm pretty hopeful. 8-)

Yes, EVERYONE gets nasty comments online. It's reassuring to me to remember how I feel when I read insults about celebrities in whom I have no emotional investment. It wouldn't occur to me to think that the celebrity's career is going to be impacted in any way by some anonymous person sitting at their computer somewhere in the world. Knowing that their words are dust in the wind helps me to not take it so seriously when the barbs are directed at Adam.

And what's going on witth the Manila promoter? Sounds like a mess! you can say that again!! It is a mess! I do not think it is the fault of the promoter. SM MOA arena management asked that Adam's concert move to other venue because K-Pop needs that date to setup their stage for their concert the following day. It is unfair because I think Adam's concert was first to contract MOA. Since MOA only wants a percentage of the receipts... this would be a very good deal for the promoter. As for Araneta coliseum, it might be that the management was asking too much, etc for use of the venue which perhaps the promoter cannot afford given the limited time (just speculating here). At any rate, I am quite angry .... to the point I wish ill to the MOA management. I am certain that we do not know the full story of the MOA booking. Booking concerts at MOA has always involved a lot of "politics". But MOA has also been a place that small promoters with little money can book a concert and make some money. >> Looks like any anger should be reserved until or if we get the real story. >> Adam had 10,000 to 20,000 people at the GNT concert at MOA so the promoters claim they doubted Adam's ability to draw a crowd does not ring true to me. >> Not sure who to blame but I feel bad for the Philippines Adam fans. What I can quickly piece together: The first promoter, Diego Pineda of Dayly Entertainment, does not have sufficient resources to do a concert at Araneta. His company was founded in 2010. In his bio, he says he was the promoter for the Kris Allen and the Jabbawockeez concert that concert was promoted by Fearless Productions. "His" big concerts have been in association with other partners with money. For example, Jason Mraz back to Manila on Oct. 30, 2011 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum was done in conjunction with LAMC Productions and Rockstar Touring. Diego was the local promoter, but the Mraz concert was actually organized by a Singapore promoter (LAMC Productions). MY GUESS based on this line in the Inquirer article "Attempts to move the Lambert concert to Smart Araneta were stalled for several weeks, until Pineda was forced to give up the production to a new promoter, Eric Ngo of Scalatech Events." Is that Diego tried to find a partner to fund the concert before he failed to meet some contract requirement and had to give up the concert. Eric Ngo of Scalatech Events is another small promoter who would need a partner to pull off a concert at Smart Araneta. >> We have had 3 promoters, 3 venues, wait a day, it could all change.

>> We have had 3 promoters, 3 venues, wait a day, it could all change. Well, I hope it does. Geez, isn't there anything available between 1,600 and 16,000? Seems odd that there is just an order of magnitude stepup w/ nothing in between. But I'm no expert on arena availability. :dunno:
