By the end of last year, TSP was estimated to have sold around 312,000 copies worldwide, per Media Traffic. Thank you Maddie. I know I keep asking the same question over and over again...It did go up a bit... YAY yw, mellie.

Brought over from News Thread Hot 100 News: Billboard and Nielsen Add YouTube Video Streaming to PlatformsBillboard and Nielsen announced today the addition of U.S. YouTube video streaming data to its platforms, which includes an update to the methodology for the Billboard Hot 100, the preeminent singles chart. The YouTube streaming data is now factored into the chart's ranking, enhancing a formula that includes Nielsen's digital download track sales and physical singles sales; as well as terrestrial radio airplay, on-demand audio streaming, and online radio streaming, also tracked by Nielsen. Billboard is now incorporating all official videos on YouTube captured by Nielsen's streaming measurement, including Vevo on YouTube, and user-generated clips that utilize authorized audio into the Hot 100 and the Hot 100 formula-based genre charts – Hot Country Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, R&B Songs, Rap Songs, Hot Latin Songs, Hot Rock Songs and Dance/Electronic Songs – to further reflect the divergent platforms for music consumption in today's world. The most notable YouTube-influenced title this week is viral sensation "Harlem Shake" by producer Baauer, which debuts at No. 1 on both the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs charts and jumps 12-1 on Dance/Electronic Songs with 103 million views, according to YouTube. According to Nielsen, the "Harlem Shake" arrival also benefits from viral video-influenced sales of 262,000 downloads. That sales sum alone, good for a No. 3 ranking on Hot Digital Songs, would have placed the track within the top 15 on the Hot 100 without the inclusion of YouTube streams into the calculation.

^^^^^^^^^^ AMAZING change by BB!! ^^^^^^^^^^^ A dedicated fanbase is becoming more and more important. So excited that BB is basically "calling out" the crap that is radio. My favorite quote from them: "Radio doesn't tell us what listeners want to hear!" BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!
On a side note, sure wish we had a MV for Cuckoo!

OK! I DID IT!!!!!! I spent 2 hours on this. I am BSC for sure!! I figured out about how much Adam is making from these concerts. You know what is really, really cool about doing this? The big venues in eastern EU had seating charts that show how many seats are still available! I am here to tell you guys, that sports arena in St Petersburg only has less than 1,000 seats left! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Also, I was going to just estimate the tickets prices and say $45 was a good average. WRONG!!! These concerts are selling for much, much higher. I figured out an average price for each venue. It ranges from $50 in Indonesia to $100 in St Pete. Most averaged around $80. Sooooooooooo, the shows had a gross of around $6,225,000. I used the Billboard figure of 34% that goes to the artist, after manager, promoter fees, and costs are deducted from the gross. Sooooooooooooooooooooo, "ta, da!" Adam is making about $2,116,500. (If those big venues completely sellout, add around another 75K to this for Adam Here is their explanation of how they get their numbers for the BB list:The data used to compile Moneymakers was supplied by Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BDS, YouTube and Billboard Boxscore. Artists are ranked by U.S. earnings, and Billboard calculated a variety of income streams, including touring, recorded-music sales, publishing royalties and revenue from an array of digital music and video services for downloads, as well as on-demand and noninteractive streaming. Due to a lack of sufficient data, our figures don’t include revenue from sponsorships, merchandise sales or synchronization data. For album and track sales, we assumed a royalty rate of 20% of retail, minus producers’ fees. We treated all streaming revenue as derived from a licensing deal and thus split that revenue in half to calculate the artist’s take. We also applied corresponding statutory mechanical rates for album and track sales and the Copyright Royalty Board-approved formulas or rates used for the various streaming channels, and further estimated the share of songs written by the artists. For all artist revenue, we subtracted a manager’s fee of 10%. For box office, we credited each artist with 34% of gross receipts, typically what’s left after the promoter’s fee, the artist manager’s cut and other costs are subtracted.

mys*&@^#r
Do you think the 34% that goes to the "artist" includes the band, dancers, and backup singers or are they considered part of the "costs"?
Thanks for working the math on this.

I think Adam pays his crew & band from that amount. I am estimating it probably totals less than 200K for this tour. I think for international shows, they have probably negotiated some or all of the travel expenses, at least for Adam.
