#mashedtots - the alphabet
So if we write the alphabet forwards and then backwards and match the letters up
Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz zyxwvutsrqponmlkjihgfedcba
the matching letters are wvid. I'm interpreting that as ID for ID and VW for The View. You guys, he's got two hosting gigs!

To answer your question, Billy is a good actor, but he typically plays roles that call for him to be showing off that body of his (which may explain why he has so many gay fans).
The role of the Princes are not large, and don't really require much acting. They sing, and show a lot of "attitude".
About this show: it is one of the Broadway musicals that is very popular with young people. It is frequently produced by campus theatrical groups. In the last few years, I have seen productions at three colleges/universities in my area.
The fact that Anna Kendrick is in it will also help bring in young audiences. "Pitch Perfect " really made her a star. She is also starring in another movie musical, the screen version of a show also popular with young people, "The Last Five Years". TLFY is the story in song of the marriage of a Jewish songwriter and a young insecure actress, and how the marriage dissolves over five years. The songwriter is being played by Jeremy Jordan, who was on "Smash". Adam would have been great in this as well, though I can see the reluctance to cast him in a hetero role in a non-ironic romance.
What I am trying to say here is that Hollywood is on a big movie musical kick right now. Adam says he would love to be in a movie. But these things don't just happen. So I wonder how much his management and agents are doing for him in this area.

Well maybe Glee is the first step in getting him recognized as a musical actor, because I really hope to see him cast in a movie musical too! I'm sure his management is working on this because Adam himself has talked about wanting to do movies eventually and his uncle told someone that he would be looking into movie roles also. The more you talk about this Sondheim musical, the more I wish it was his introduction to movies though, sounds really perfect for him. I also did a little research on Billy and see there are a lot of pics of him in underwear lol, and lots of sites talking about his "naked" pics too, so I guess he has maybe used some of his other "assets" to get parts, and he's not the first one to do so!

Meaningless random fact very marginally related to Adam: Billy Magnussen played Casey Hughes in the soap opera As the World Turns. Matthew Morrison was also on As the World Turns for awhile, playing Casey's older half-brother: Adam.
I just enjoy little coincidences like that. Carry on.

ok, I stand corrected on that alternative versus indie topic. You are of course correct, me bad. He did not say indie, that is true. But he is not promoting the divas so much anymore, so his message has changed, but perhaps this is more of a soundbite than a mountain of mashed potatoes that I got focused on, at this point. So, I give you that.
Still think though that this DREW video is about idol (which btw would also not be his to announce, but everybody and anybody is guessing around regarding idol, so the more the merrier, I suppose, when it comes to this one). I don't think, we have figured out what DREW stands for yet, but I think that whole idol story and how he reacted during interviews has to do with the label situation and here is how.
As you know, I always believed that his RCA contract was in the way of getting the idol job in the first place (in 2012), because idol is about finding future talent for Interscope, and RCA does not exactly have an interest in their own artists nurturing the competition's future artists. And while that may not be a contractual barrier, it certainly could have been a hindrance to his relationship with RCA.
I presume that a year earlier, when he was presumably in the running, but ultimately not chosen for idol, that somebody behind the scenes pointed out to him or his management that his label was one of the reasons he could not be judge.
It probably also meant that idol probably did not initially approach him or consider him for this year's go around, even though they wanted him. Then Adam used the idol platform at the finale for an impromptu press conference. He walked across the to him familiar stage where the press was assembled and casually asked: While I am here, do you guys have any questions for me...and hence he had himself a press conference and an interview that idol obviously could not ignore. Then he used it to shout from the rooftops that he would LOVE to be an idol judge. We all thought it sounded a bit too eager from a negotiation standpoint, but looking back, he probably needed to break through that barrier of 'no point talking to him - he is with the wrong label' - stuff.
Idol went through its messes of finding some kind of new management and so it took a while, but eventually somebody did pick up on what he had said and called his management. Once that had happened, Adam clamped down on the whole eagerness talk and rather said nothing or diverted the question from then on out.
And once the call from idol came, his management probably had that non-disclosure paperwork ready to sign and then let the cat out of the bag that Adam was in the process of walking and that therefore the label would not be a problem anymore. And then it probably went rather fast, because now both sides were interested and it was just about contracts and such and probably sorted itself out rather quickly.
Now, obviously, I am only guessing about all this, and I have no knowledge of course, but if this scenario that I am describing here were in fact true, then Interscope did have knowledge of Adam leaving RCA prior to this THR letter. And if they wanted to pick him up as an artist, they could have done it by now.
Adam does seem rather calm about the whole situation, so either the announcement has to wait for idol or for some other reason is delayed, or he is not too worried about not having a label right away. I don't get the impression that he is worried at all.
He probably was worried how the story would go down, but given that the press releases, publicity and everything were handled so brilliantly and everyone seems to be on his side rather than RCAs regarding him walking away from the contract, I think he probably feels free at last.
As far as Adam needing a label. I totally agree that radio is the sticky point. If Adam does not have a major label he can forget running after single charts. Radio sucks that way.
But on the other hand, he managed to get a no 1 album without having a lead single on radio, and clearly without much promotional effort from his label for either the singles or his album. If the week is chosen carefully, Adam can get a number one album, just on fan base strength, and with a rock album, he has chances to do even better than he did last time around.
And BB changed the rules for HOT100 also, so that helps a bit too, even though I am not optimistic that it will be enough to move him to the top of the single charts. But, does he really need that? I mean, it would be nice, like the icing on the cake, but I don't think he needs it at this point.
Adam needs world wide distribution and he needs promotion, in the sense of publicity and TV, the latter which he has already organized for himself via Glee. If he has to work without radio, he is not much worse off than he was for Trespassing phase, if you think about it. Is that a rather unusual situation? Sure it is, but then Adam's career has not followed the usual path from the get go. And he is clearly branching out to becoming a TV star rather than just a recording artist anyhow, so I think, he would be fine even without that radio hit. YMMV.
