Just because checking the iTunes chart is a welcome distraction for me and I brought it up earlier I'll continue a little bit. Sometime last night / this morning on iTunes overall chart 'Wake me up' climbed to nr 3 in the US (Greece nr 2 and not charted in Japan) - that was the best performance for it that I have seen: nr 1 in 19 countries. (... and the album re-appeared at nr 2 in Finland) At the moment, US nr 4 and UK nr 2 with Miley Cyrus getting ahead of WMU in both charts, Greece nr 3 while nr 1 still in all other18 countries (except for Japan). However, on dance chart the song is nr 1 in ALL the 22 countries listed (also in Japan). If you read this soon this link might let you see the overall domination at the moment www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10dancesongs.html (sorry but to make it 'permanent' I would need to post 5 screencaps which I think is too much) Thanks for the updates, belle! This bodes very well for the upcoming album sales, and just imagine If LMD really wound up being the next single....

Tim Bergling @avicii 27 min I cant believe how well "Wake me up" has done, would never have dreamed of this! I love all you guys for the support, so excited abt album!!
On iTunes today WMU has dropped down a little bit in 6 countries out of 21 (excluding Japan, the 22nd country listed). The countries where WMU is NOT nr one are US, UK, Canada, Greece, New Zealand and Spain. It's still holding the 2nd place everywhere else but the US where it's placed nr 4 at the moment - mostly overtaken by Blurred Lines again.
Yeah, I'm excited about the album, too!
And we shouldn't forget Glee songs to come either... sooner or later, YAY!

Robin Thicke Extends Hot 100 Run to Nine Weeks, Sets Audience and Sales Records "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell, breaks the mark for highest weekly audience impressions in Nielsen BDS history with 219.8 million and becomes the first track to sell more than 400,000 downloads in four different weeksRobin Thicke, the newly crowned Billboard 200 champion holds steady atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a ninth week with "Blurred Lines" (featuring T.I. and Pharrell), which is numerically notable since its the longest run at No. 1 by a solo male artist since Flo Rida led for 10 weeks with "Low" starting on the Jan. 5, 2008, chart. However, it's on the Hot 100's breakout charts where Thicke and "Lines" are establishing record-setting achievements as the title grabs the top Gainer award on each of the three charts; Radio Songs, Digital Songs and Streaming Songs. ******************************* With 4.27 million downloads sold to date, "Lines" blurs past Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" (4.10 million) as the second-best selling digital song of 2013. Only Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop," featuring Wanz, with 5.77 million, has sold more this calendar year. ****************************** In overall Hot 100 chart points, "Lines" posts it largest lead to date over its next highest challenger, more than doubling "Stop's" point total. Unless one of the upcoming big single releases ( Katy Perry? Lady Gaga?) post extraordinary first-week sales, airplay and streaming numbers, Thicke's "Lines" could be entrenched at the top for quite some time and make its way among the all-time weeks on chart leaders. ******************************* ******************************* For the complete article, go to www.billboard.com/articles/news/5638328/robin-thicke-extends-hot-100-run-to-nine-weeks-sets-audience-and-sales-records

Avicii's True release is on its way but it's early days yet - still it appears in several countries' Dance chart top ten on iTunes. The first single 'Wake me up' is nr one Dance song in all 22 countries listed (also in Japan) here www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10dancesongs.html The single is doing well also on the overall charts the picture being similar to the one I last posted; dropped a place or two in a small number of countries, staying nr 1 in 17 countries (out of 22) at the moment. It seems that the next single will be unveiled sooner than I thought namely next monday together with the album's cover art, countdown clock here thetruereveal.com/ Fans are encouraged to tweet with #thetruereveal revealing something 'true' about themselves and the tweet will open spots to gradually find out the cover art. Also the next single will start to play very low with one instrumental line at first and the volume together with melodic lines will be gradually increased and added by the tweets. The countdown clock will morph into a live broadcast of all this happening in Stockholm. Cool! Will it be Audra Mae's or Adam's track or some other track altogether? ETA Better check the reveal time closer to the happening, I'm a bit confused with the clock.

South Korea - Good news! On the news thread we had a post a while ago of a beer commercial featuring PSY and Adam's music (IIHY?). Just a few days ago it was reported that another Adam's song (TP?) was used on a promo of... was it CSI:Miami. I also saw a tweet with a screecap of a chart where IIHY was nr 1 (but all other text was blurred and the source of the chart was not named. I thought that was too obscure to post here. Now I saw something more reliable, perhaps, on the subject. explanation www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rlq4tc screencap of the chart imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/ml0w.png/ It says that IIHY was nr 6 and nr 7 a week later on foreign singles' chart and nr 13 / nr 15 respectively on foreign artists' download chart. She says this Gaon chart is equivalent to Billboard.

Thanks, belle! It is clear that having a commercial with his music really catches the public's attention. He needs some commercials in the US!!!

Thanks, belle! It is clear that having a commercial with his music really catches the public's attention. He needs some commercials in the US!!! IMHO,Having commercials overseas is very lucrative..There is always the Gay thing here in the states. mellie, I'm afraid there is always "the Gay thing" everywhere in the world! In Asia, due to the culture difference, it's very seldom to witness the sort of blatantly outright display of ignorance and hatred in the real life or on the social media as do in the US, but make no mistake, they do exist there! although in most regions such as China, Japan & South Korea, etc., they do not have the element of Christianity to add to the fire, either. However, even in those markets, the media still can't help singling out his "gayness" and sometimes having "a little fun" with it but luckily, they almost never fail to bring his talent to the fore in the end. The U.S. is the most lucrative music market in the world overall and one of the most regulated, too! Asia is notorious for its rampant piracy practices and lack of regulations and laws to protect artists" intellectual properties and monetary interests. In the US, we have "Synchronization Rights and Royalties" ( " A synchronization license is needed for a song to be reproduced onto a television program, film, video, commercial, radio, or even an 800 number phone message. The synchronization royalty is paid to songwriters and publishers for use of a song used as background music for a movie, TV show, or commercial." ). Whereas in Asia, a total different story the best-case scenario is massive exposure for the artist and his/her music, which hopefully will in turn generate opportunities such as endorsements and concerts, etc. I have no idea if Adam got paid for his music being used in those South Korean commercials, but based on what I know, if there was compensation it would've gone to RCA, most likely. ETA: Although if Adam starred in a commercial (or just making an appearance), then it would be something entirely different, then we're talking about some serious $$$ with his name on it!!

TOP 10 TRACKS: It's a great time to be Robin Thicke. As Blurred Lines was blowing past estimates en route to a chart-topping first week, the mega-smash single of the same name surged above 400k again to recapture the top perch, more than doubling the total of #2 Miley Cyrus. In other feel-good stories, Anna Kendrick returned to the Top 10, Capital Cities arrived on the big board and Avicii got there just six weeks into what promises to be an extended run.1. Robin Thicke, Blurred Lines 405k 2. Miley Cyrus, We Can't Stop 173k 3. Jay Z f/Justin Timberlake, Holy Grail 162k 4. Imagine Dragons, Radioactive 155k 5. Anna Kendrick, Cups 110k 6. Florida Georgia Line, Cruise 108k 7. Daft Punk f/Pharrell, Get Lucky 104k 8. Capital Cities, Safe and Sound 103k 9. Avicii, Wake Me Up 100k10. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Same Love 97k Meanwhile, One Direction's Best Song Ever did the standard second-week settle, dropping 72% to 91k (but don't worry, girls, they'll be back in no time), while Lana Del Rey's Summertime Sadness moved up seven slots and gained 26% on nearly 82k. But the biggest move was made by Lorde's Royals, rocketing up 20 slots to #21 on 57k, a 30% uptick. source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi
