TOP 10 TRACKS: Lorde's Royals not only appears to have a stranglehold on #1, it also continues to increase in sales week over week; the latest uptick is 5%, as the track once again crossed the 300k threshold. The other big hand 'three of a kind' is held by Katy Perry, as a third Prism track, Walking on Air, debuts on the big board. Drake's 'Hold On, We're Going Home' returns to the Top 10 after dropping to #13. But get this, it's up a whopping 64%. These three are bucking a disturbing trend. According to our in-house numbers cruncher, track sales on the week dropped below 20m under the first time since 2010. 1. Lorde, Royals 309k 2. Katy Perry, Roar 218k 3. Miley Cyrus, Wrecking Ball 214k4. Avicii, Wake Me Up 167k5. Drake f/Majid Jordan, Hold On, We're Going Home 131k 6. Jay Z f/Justin Timberlake, Holy Grail 118k 7. Eminem, Berzerk 115k 8. Katy Perry, Walking on Air 104k 9. Lady Gaga, Applause 109k 10. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, Dark Horse 99k Creeping toward the Top 10 is Ylvis' The Fox with 86k, an 18% increase over the previous week. Be very afraid, because here's no stopping it now. source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi?20

iTUNES CHARTS: Well, this is highly unusual. It seems that the top three slots on the album chart have suddenly been overrun by white guys with guitars although, to be totally accurate, Seattle sextet The Head and the Heart does have a female violinist. But breathing down their necks (as she is wont to do) is Miley Cyrus, whose Bangerz is one of three holdovers in the Top 10, along with Lorde and the Glee Cast's Cory Monteith tribute. The singles chart has been fluid this morning; earlier, the second in Justin Bieber's series of weekly offerings held the top perch, just as the first one did last Tuesday, displacing Lorde's "Royals" (for the moment, at least), but Eminem's newly released "Rap God" recently climbed over both to take it over. That gives Marshall two big-board entries; Survival, which hit a week ago, is the other. OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" has entered the picture (it also hit #1 in the U.K. last week, btw) as it crosses from Hot AC to Top 40 and Ryan Tedder joins The Voice as Adam Levine's assistant coach. It also appears that still more people want to know what "The Fox" says. ================================================== IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE KELLY: It wouldn't be at all surprising if this year's dominant seasonal album turns out to be Kelly Clarkson's Wrapped in Red, hitting 10/29 on RCA. We haven't yet heard a note, but the combination of Clarkson's golden pipes and holiday faves like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "Run Run Rudolph" and, of course, "White Christmas" would seem to be a marriage made in heaven. The album will get a well-timed boost from the NBC prime-time special "Kelly Clarkson's (Cautionary) Christmas Tale", taping on 10/30 at the Venetian in Vegas; air date TBA. source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi

Lorde's 'Royals' Rules Hot 100 For Third Week Her debut hit maintains its reign, while Ylvis' 'The Fox' reaches the Digital Songs top 10 and Justin Bieber and Eminem storm the Hot 100's top 20******************** ********************* As previously reported, Cyrus' debut RCA album "Bangerz" debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 270,000 copies sold. "Ball" drops 3-4 on Digital Songs (which it led four weeks ago) with 128,000 downloads sold, a 40% decline; its sales slide is owed to iTunes' customers who opted to "complete" the "Bangerz" album by upgrading their earlier purchase of "Ball" to a full album. Effectively, consumers who completed the album were returning a song, thus augmenting the song's sales drop this week. (For the purposes of Hot 100 rankings, aggregate sales and returns contribute to the song's overall point total.) ************************ ************************* Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" holds at its No. 4 peak on the Hot 100. It remains at its No. 3 highpoint on Radio Songs (133 million, up 5%) and returns to its best rank (4-3) on Digital Songs, despite a 4% decline to 160,000. As previously reported, "Wake" takes over atop the adult alternative Triple A airplay chart. It dominates Dance/Electronic Songs for a sixth week. ********************* ********************** For the complete article, go to www.billboard.com/articles/news/5755784/lordes-royals-rules-hot-100-for-third-week

YOUR TOP 15 (PLUS ONE): Get that flannel shirt out of mothballs' Pearl Jam will have the #1 album next week. Meanwhile, as many as eight other debuts could land in the Top 15. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend: *Pearl Jam (Monkeywrench/Republic) 170-180k Miley Cyrus (RCA) 75-80k *Paul McCartney (Hear Music) 70-75k *Avett Brothers (American/Republic) 60-65k Drake (Young Money/Cash Money/Republic) 55-60k *Scotty McCreery (Mercury Nashville/19/Interscope) 45-50kLorde (Lava/Republic) 45-50k *The Head and the Heart (Sub Pop) 35-40k *Willie Nelson (Legacy) 35-40k *Gavin DeGraw (RCA) 25-28kLuke Bryan (Capitol Nashville) 21-24k Pusha T (Def Jam/IDJ) 18-21k Cher (Warner Bros.) 17-20k Cassadee Pope (Republic Nashville) 16-18k *Trivium (Roadrunner) 16-18k *Chase Rice (Dack Janiels) 16-18k * Debuts You'll note that Republic has three of the likely Top 5 and five of the Top 15. Meanwhile, to honor the next chart champs, the UMPG Dispensary is rolling out its limited-edition Grunge Nugs. ====================================================== ====================================================== TOP 10 TRACKS: It isn't hard to find the good news on the latest sales chart following another bleh week. Lorde still rules the roost, suffering a mere 5% slippage; Katy's 'Roar' and Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' have legs; the first single in Justin Bieber's promised weekly series made the intended impression on his fannettes; and Eminem's videogame contrib had a solid debut, though we suspect it'll be dwarfed by the total generated by the astounding "Rap God", which hit on Monday and will make its initial chart appearance next week. Then there's Ylvis, with their unanticipated resuscitation of the novelty song, which makes us nostalgic for Sheb Wooley's 'The Purple People Eater'. 1. Lorde, Royals 294k 2. Katy Perry, Roar 195k 3. Avicii, Wake Me Up 160k4. Miley Cyrus, Wrecking Ball 128k 5. Justin Bieber, Heartbreaker 127k 6. Drake f/Majid Jordan, Hold On, We're Going Home 121k 7. Eminem, Survival 112k 8. Ylvis, The Fox 107k 9. Lady Gaga, Applause 100k 10. Jay Z f/Justin Timberlake, Holy Grail 98k There's some good news just off the big board, as OneRepublic's 'Counting Stars' moves 88k, a 17% jump, after 20 weeks. source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi

If we are keeping track of Idols, Scotty predicted to sell 41-45 K on album #2 This number (even at 50K) is a bit depressing, especially considering he's country......

So Scotty's first album sold 197,000 its debut week and went platinum but his second album debuts with 45-50k.
Adam's first album 198,000 debut hasn't hit platinum as far as we know but his second debuts with 77k. Adam's numbers keep looking better all the time.
