He did Grease on Broadway then did the road version when it traveled. I have seen him more than once & he puts on an excellent show. I think he has a reputation of being good live, so people go see him.
I think he didn't play by the rules, so RCA & 19 were vindictive. He released his second album under his own label and probably made a good amount. I followed his career closely up until 2009. Hmmmm, wonder what happened then?! LOL!!

Some things Taylor has said rubbed me the wrong way. Like he said "winners should be American Idol judge" (which excluded Adam). Most recently he said Harry Connick Jr is a true musician like himself. People thought Taylor meant true musicians are those who play instruments as well as sing.

Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" holds at its No. 4 peak on the Hot 100. It remains at its No. 3 highpoint on Radio Songs (139 million, up 4%), gains by 15% to 184,000 downloads sold (despite backtracking 4-5 on Digital Songs) and climbs 9-8 on Streaming Songs (4.3 million, up 6%). It leads Dance/Electronic Songs for a seventh week.

Eminem blasts onto the Hot 100 at No. 7 with "Rap God," which starts on Digital Songs at No. 1 with 270,000. It also opens atop Rap Songs. The track is the third to receive a digital release ahead of his album "The Marshall Mathers LP," due Nov. 5. "Berzerk" logged a No. 3 Hot 100 and No. 2 Digital Songs debut with 362,000, followed by "Survival" last week (No. 17/No. 7, 112,000). "Rap God" is Eminem's first Digital Songs No. 1 as a lead artist since "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna) spent seven weeks in charge in 2010.

Eminem must have a huge, loyal fan base. He doesn't have to do any promoting and he sells, sells, sells. Maybe I'm looking in the wrongs places, but as far as I know, has hasn't been very visible. I don't read about him or see him on TV. I'm sure he does get a lot of radio time, tho. Does he still tour much?

Wake Me Up just made #1 on Top 40 radio. It knocked Lorde out who had been there all week. Unfortunately for Lorde, since Lorde will not have the spot on Sunday, WMU gets the #1 for this week. It will probably hold on for a week depending on how fast Wrecking Ball moves in to wreck it!

I think 2 weeks. Wrecking Ball has a big spin increase but it is still 3K spins behind. And WMU is increasing by 500+ . My guess is that WMU will still be #1 next Sunday also

it will probably get #1 on HAC too, eventually. HAC moves so slow though!!
