I found this the other day on Hits Daily Double and thought it was very interesting. It is upcoming album releases. It gives the 1st week sales for the artists' last album , plus their current sales #s for that album. It is surprising to see the low numbers for everyone but about 5 artists. www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/sales_ur.cgi

So Scotty's first album sold 197,000 its debut week and went platinum but his second album debuts with 45-50k. Adam's first album 198,000 debut hasn't hit platinum as far as we know but his second debuts with 77k. Adam's numbers keep looking better all the time. NGL. The meltdown and spin was too funny. Other than Daughtry Adam has the bigger fanbase out of the male Idols. I hope when he releases album #3 he will have held on to at least 75% of his fans.

If we are keeping track of Idols, Scotty predicted to sell 41-45 K on album #2 This number (even at 50K) is a bit depressing, especially considering he's country...... His fans were overly confident he broke out of the bubble, considering his debut album sales and opening for one of the biggest country superstars. He also made many appearances at the biggest country events. Frankly, I'm surprised at the low number... I thought country fans were supposed to be the most loyal fans of any genre.

Yeah, on the spin. You notice how the FOOs always poo poo Adam's international sales. Even if it's just 100K, for soph album sales, that is substantial.

Unless they're fans of Kelly or Jordin, no other camps should have the gall to sneer at Adam's int'l numbers 'cuz he's in the 3rd place right behind those 2 girls, as far as overall int'l sales are concerned. Looking into the future, although the Idol fan base still serves as the backbone of this fandom, the success of album #3 and Adam's longevity in this biz largely depends on his & his team's ability to broaden his audience and fan base. Projects like Glee and collaborations with Avicii & Nile are certainly a good start! Speaking of Avicii, below are a couple of worldwide stats for Avicii.

Above figures are points (sales plus airplay), below is the Global Album Chart, strictly sales. **** As of Sep 30, Avicii's album, True, has sold roughly 157,000 copies worldwide since its release, per Media Traffic.

157,000 worldwide sounds low considering his popularity.

Yes, but it's difficult to argue with them because they always claim Adam never charted anywhere and no numbers were ever posted. So, to them Adam's international sales is practically nil.

Well, their claims are untrue, unfounded, and ignorant above all! Although let me put my "objectivity & fairness hat" on for a second ... I guess if they're not Adam Lambert fans, especially if they're "detractors", chances are slim to none that they would find themselves on major Adam fan sites like Atopia, or Adam's wiki (both albums' wiki are fairly updated), or other non-Idol centered industry music sites checking out Adam's numbers. Besides, numbers are such a bore to most peeps anyway. Even a lot of my dear Atopians have never stopped by here, which is why we have to post those "flailing worthy" numbers in the main thread, again! I don't have any firsthand knowledge or experience about the Idol bubble (Adam's season was the only reality singing competition show that I'd ever watched), but it seems to me that any conversational engagements with those narrow-minded FOOs is simply a waste of time.

157,000 worldwide sounds low considering his popularity. The album number seems strangely "low", considering its lead single's ginormous success. Below is Wake Me Up's worldwide certifications since the June release:( EDT: It has sold over 1 million copies in the UK as of Oct 6) However, for an EDM album and out for just a little over one month (released on Sept. 13 first in parts of Europe, Sept. 17 in the US), 157,000 is quite an achievement. The countries where EDM is most popular aren't major music markets, and its main demographics are considered most likely to stream or "steal" instead of buying. Ironically, the single has struck such a chord in the US, earning the most commercial success (followed by the UK), but it seems that the listeners aren't just quite ready to go for the full-length, yet.
