I'm not overanalyzing it. I simply like or don't like what I hear. Absolutely... I'm a massive Stevie Nicks stan, I wouldn't say her voice is great but it just makes my ears happy

I happen to like David of the group Il Divo, here is one song that captures his and their essence. I love the bombastic voices at the end especially David, the American. He is the second singer that comes on and tallest in the group. I know some of you will say manufactured group by Simon Cowell, but they have done some good stuff. Just love David. Did I say I love David. www.youtube.com/watch?v=w77SFM7Fksc

Someone up thread mentioned K. D. Lang. This song is so beautiful. A magical moment at the 2012 Olympic Games. KD would have to be on my list. I love her voice and interpretations, she is also on my dream list of people for Adam to duet with.

You are right he does but you missed the two most characteristic attributes - huge rib cage and long torso (both present in nearly all male swimmers)...

Of course you are right about the Long Torso, but for me powerful chest means the same as huge/powerful rib case. I like male swimmers.... very elegant Bodys. Anyone knew how good Adam is at Swimming?

Still thinking about what makes a great singer. I'm curious how y'all would answer the following questions? (There are no right or wrong answers.) 1. Does a great singer/performer have to have a great voice (in terms of technique, vocal production, etc.)? Looking at RS's top 10, which includes Bob Dylan, for some the answer is "no." What do you think? 2. Does a great singer/performer have to interpret a song with emotion that moves you? Do they have to impart meaning to the lyrics and phrasing as opposed to just sounding good or making you want to dance along? 3. Does a great singer/performer have to have a compelling stage presence/persona? Do they have to be "entertaining" or can they just immerse themselves in the music? 4. Does a great singer/performer have to be good looking, sexy, slim, young, stylish or any of the above? How important is visual appeal? 5. Do you have to like the genre or type of music they perform in order to think they are a great singer? 6. Do you have to know anything about their personality and off-stage behavior/life? Does that affect your appreciation of them as a singer/performer? 7. Does a great singer/performer need to compose their own music and/or play an instrument? I'd love to read your opinions, comments, and insights. Thanks. I'm not overanalyzing it. I simply like or don't like what I hear. nonchallance--you took the words right out of my mouth. However, if I am at a concert (which is rare, unless it is to see Adam), some stage presence and charisma is nice but not a must. I enjoy artists who can make me want to dance my butt off and also bring me to tears with their performance and interpretation of the song. cassie: great questions!
