UH, I found this in a web search. I didn't know that was considered plagiarism, to find images and post them, even if I don't know the origin. Sorry I wasn't able to credit the image. I thought it was worth sharing on my blog, so I did. I see my edits and gifs, without credit, all over twitter and realize it's the nature of the web. If I got upset every time I saw that, I would not be a happy camper. Creating gifs is really time consuming but I'd rather people share them than worry about receiving credit for them. I put lilybop in the titles so I can see how they spread on Twitter. It's pretty amazing. I didn't take credit for creating that Velvet Underground image but I did choose to share it. I'm glad I did. I also didn't make the Velvet Underground GIF I posted, but I love it so I shared it despite not knowing the origin. I guess that's "plagiarism" too. My bad. Is there even a way to find out the source of things we find to post?

It is difficult, especially if you are using image search like lillybop when you find something to share. However, I've copied the URLs of the two images and if in doubt as to the source then the one that uses a photo service like photobucket or imageshack should be considered as the original because someone has saved it before sharing and not just cut and pasted. But when searching you have no idea which of the images google is going to find and people are not going to go look at all the URLs and figure it out. And what do you do on the images where the original is edited such as taking Eli out of his own pic? That cropped image gets saved but Eli gets nothin.
Now, many people only know how to cut (right click copy image) and paste (right click paste) - or save it to their hard drive and upload it to a blog. But I have not been able to explain to my dad for instance, how to share (right click copy image URL) an image on his wildlife photo site on to his blog. He'll cut and paste just fine but that defeats the whole purpose of building links to his photo site arrrgg.
And then to really do things right, like 4Ms does, you need to copy the URL of the page/post the image is on too or photobucket gets all the credit because there's no link to the thread itself. Places like adampictures have an easier time because it's fairly easy to credit the whole site. 4Ms archives however are a part of Adamtopia and there isn't one page that I can see which is a starting point just for the archives which makes it hard even to put a visual link on the pic but a 4Ms or something would become as recognizable as suzy526.

Is there even a way to find out the source of things we find to post? Sometimes, it is impossible to find a source. Sometimes, you just have to look. I spend much of my time trying to find sources for photos or bits of info floating around on the internet. Here is a search I just did: Google search P1 -> Adam Lambert Velvet Goldmine bit.ly/17dVxuKGoogle search P2 -> Adam Lambert Velvet Goldmine bit.ly/19db0guGoogle search P3 -> Click link to Adam Lambert Timeline | Adamtopia Adam Lam... bit.ly/1bESumG
