I, too, enjoyed your MTN mash-up, Glampoon! What I'm not enjoying so much is the comparisons between Adam and Gaga. They are two diverse, incomparable artists. How would this fandom feel if an artist covered an Adam song and it was being said the other artist's version put Adam's in the dust? I mean, ouch. Gaga created this song and her vibe in it is so different. Not better or worse, different. Yeah I intended it more as a duet than a sing-off I don't see a problem with respectful comparisons tho. As long as they stay respectful hehe. But yeah you're right two totally different singers in the pop world both at the top of their game, just feel the music and the love groovy mamas peace out

Q3, if QAL were to do a big music festival in the U.S., which ones would you suggest? I was look for a list of rock music festivals in the U.S. and came upon one in Wisconson in July that is asking for our choice of headliners and supporting artist. And Queen is on the long list of acts in choice lists. So, I put in Queen! Maybe if we all do, there might be a chance. www.rock-fest.com/webform/who-would-you-see-rock-fest-2014Answering this very late but.... Bonnaroo 2014 (Tennessee) would be great for exposure to an new audience. lineup.bonnaroo.com/ It has both current and classic acts. It is in June but presale starts on Dec 2, 2013. Rock Fest (Wisconsin) would also be good. at Some other big festivals do not seem like a good fit to me: Lollapalooza, for example, seems like the wrong crowd. ** Just being selfish - I would love them to play a concert near me. Blossom (a few miles from me) would be a perfect venue for them. Or the could play Rock on the Range (Columbus OH)

But I don't LIKE Gaga. *whine* so it hard for me to "keep it real" and complement. I didn't say anything negative, just I like ADAM. Bring it home, daddy-o. Outtasight! Power to the People.

I didn't mean to imply that Gaga's MTN wasn't stella, I just like the way Adam sang it better. I would never go on another fan board and compare the two of them because I think that would be disrespectful to that artist and his/her fans. I posted it here because this is an Adam fan site. I didn't mean to offend anyone with my comment. I guess this is why I very rarely post if at all. Oh, Cupofadam, please don't stop posting. I wasn't saying one shouldn't like a version of MTN better than the other. Please keep posting. I've seen numerous posts about the Adam/Gaga thing. I like Adam's version too. Like Glampoon is saying..can it not be a love fest and not a sing-off? And I'll zip it and get out of here. No offense was meant to you by my remark. I should head back to the shallow end where I guess I belong. You're golden, girl. POST ON!! Don't worry I am here everyday. I very rarely post anyway. I do enjoy all of you and your comments whether I agree with them or not. I have really thick skin so I'm not sure why I took to heart probably just tired from working so much lately. All is good.

Oh, I have no problem sending him one video in reply to his email and telling him why I like it so much JMHO -- but if someone likes MTN and is a non-fan, I might select an Adam performance that is more current and pop/rock vs. WWLTF which is vocally brilliant (and my favorite Adam live performance) -- depends on your friend's musical taste. I just sent one of my friends who liked MTN videos of Adam performing "Shout" and PTL. I picked an updated version well-known pop hit and an upbeat, fun Adam original. That was successful. I have no idea of my friend's musical taste. For me, it's about sharing what I most love about Adam and why I follow his career. So I picked the performance that moves me the most and described my experience of that performance to him.

I just post how much I like Adam's version of MTN on Adam, Glee and general entertainment sites. That eliminates any problems. I prefer Adam but I also like some of Lady Gaga's music. I am not a fan of ArtPoP. But many artists have a miss here and there. I have seen Lady Gaga live a couple of times and she is a very talented entertainer and songwriter. The upcoming album of jazz duets with Tony Bennett will be an interesting change. She can actually sing, just hard to tell with all the production. More info: www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/29/lady-gaga-tony-bennett-duets-jazz-album-january_n_4013390.htmlI also liked her 2011 duet with Tony Bennett. youtu.be/ZPAmDULCVrU

And it is also my favorite Adam performance other than the Quebec OOL world premiere.

What is it about Adam's version of as song that makes me love it more than other versions? The first thing that hits me is the tone of his voice. It is bright, clear, and ringing, but with a fullness, roundness, and depth, too. Other singers have good voices, but most of the pop and rock singers I hear don't have that resonance. Their voices sound flat (not in pitch, but in tone) or dull in comparison. I don't set out to compare, really. But, when I hear another singer and then hear Adam, the richness of his tone is strikingly obvious to me.
Have you you seen the TV ads for Claritin allergy meds? They show someone in a pretty outdoor setting talking and it looks fine. Then, when they talk about Claritin, the special effect is like taking a slightly gauzy film off the camera lens and everything just pops with color and crispness. Adam's voice is like that. Or like someone here once said: like other voices are two dimensional and Adam's is in 3D.
The second thing about Adam's performances is the intensity of the emotions in the song. The words and phrases mean something. The song tells a story. After listening to Adam, when I hear others there is a kind of flatness in the interpretation. Maybe it is Adam's training in theater that causes him to consider how to approach the song so that it means something. Technically, Adam does things to bring that emotionalism to the song. Things like changing the tone, roughening it up or smoothing it out, singing it with a straight, piercing sound, or warming it up with vibrato. Or doing subtle little things with the rhythms and phrasing, speeding up a phrase, elongating it, holding a note a bit longer, or delaying the start of a note or phrase. Or, varying how he articulates words, spitting them out in a staccato style, or flowing one sound into another, but always producing the words intelligibly. His interpretations are full of life and masterful.
Most singers cannot do this because they do not have the technical ability to do so much with their voice and delivery. Just something as "simple" as being able to sing any note delicately and softly, in a normal volume, or with super power is beyond many singers. All the technical things that Adam is able to do with his voice are, individually, very subtle, while cumulatively, they result in us thinking "Wow, that sounds great! The best I have ever heard that song." This is not to take away anything from other singers who are also very good. I am not dissing anyone. I am just trying to explain why some of us hear a "one in a billion" voice when Adam sings.

I know this is from a few days ago but I wanted to let everyone know where my name "cupofadam" came from. The first thing I do when I wake up is make a cup of coffee and sit down and open up Adamtopia. So my son said Adam is like your cup of coffee you can't start your day without it. So I thought it was only fitting that my name would be "cupofadam" So you see I am here everyday and I am not planning on going anywhere. I love all you guys and of course The Fierce One who can only be named "Adam Lambert"!!
