The issue isn't power. It's about money -- generally speaking, you can get the best if you are willing to pay for them. We have no idea what Adam's budget is, but I'm guessing it's smaller than Kelly's. Also, Brian London is no slouch -- he has worked with Rihannna, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, so I imagine he has connections. But there are other considerations in selecting band members. It's also about what Adam is looking for and values in band members. In addition to talent, Adam also seems to value finding band mates with an approach to music similar to his (which makes sense); he also values personality -- the person's attitude, are they easy to get along with, etc. -- and their "look". These were things Adam mentioned when he was putting together the band for the Glam Nation tour. I also imagine that Adam values loyalty -- he appears to be a very loyal person and values those who are loyal to him. So unless something radical happens or one of his current band members chooses to move on, I expect we will be seeing them for a while. In the end, It's the fans loyalty that matters the most.. their loyalty makes and keeps one's career.Adam can't carry the whole show by himself,he needs great backup ,not just loyal friends who happen to be musicians.. OK I've had my rant..moving on very quickly ![]() again You've been to enough live concerts to speak well on what you've seen and heard. Nothing better then a first-hand observation. |

Her musical director has been with her since she came off Idol and he makes sure she has top notch musicians with her. That is the key for Adam IMO, getting a musical director with the power to hire the right musicians for Adam. The issue isn't power. Sadly, the bold part is probably true which is a shame because someone with a voice like Adam's deserves a band that plays on his level. They are all proficient players but they are not skilled enough IMO to handle the intricate work that Adam's music needs. This becomes painfully obvious when Adam is actually backed by high caliber musicians. |

I thought soundchecks are for the purpose of addressing any possible sound issues. Why the problems during the show?
And I certainly don't think Adam and Tommy have to be bound together forever careerwise because of the kisses.

I am completely ignorant about these things, but am wondering why would a singer not be able to hear his own voice? Good question. You would think you could always hear your own voice. But, in concert, rock bands are SOOOOO loud they mask out the sound of the singer's own voice. Have you ever been to a concert and sung along but not been able to hear your own voice? It happened to me in the balcony at Adam's concert. Have you ever tried to take a picture in bright sunlight and you couldn't see the image on the screen? The camera was working fine, but the sunlight overpowered the weak light of the screen. Same idea. It's one of the main reason for in-ear monitors. To feed his voice into his ears while dialing back the instruments. Getting the right balance is very tricky. Yup! He is hearing what the sound technician is feeding him. If the monitors are not working , it is like wearing ear plugs (remember that D. C. Hotel Concert?) If any instrument is too loud, it drowns out others. As Cassie said, "tricky!" |

With all the history Tommy and Adam have together, he was the recipient of the famous AMA kiss for heaven's sake, I imagine letting him go would be extremely difficult and maybe to difficult too be a real option for Adam. I'm not sure what the AMA kiss has to do with Adam needing a better guitar player? |

I really hate band talk. Not saying it should stop. I just feel it is Adam's career, his choice. He is a professional. Can't see him hiring anyone he doesn't deem capable just because they are a friend. In the long run, he is a solo artist. They are a back up band. They will come and go as Adam chooses!
ETA: wanted to add, I guess for me, Criticizing the band always makes me feel like it implies Adam doesn't know what he's doing.
