Nationalglampoon I like Katy and would be fine with Adam collaborating with her but I really thought the XFactor performance was not good. I love how she supported Adam on Idol and went to a red carpet with him when he was first starting out. Sooo....please don't smack me with a fish! I haven't even listened to it hehe

I remember hearing some within idol who were not ok with her showing biast, but that cld of been some butthurt idol fandoms haha. Hopefully they collaborate in the future. Yes yes yes please God please Buddah please SpongeBob please please please (and if anyone even thinks of implying collaborating with Katy Perry is beneath Adam I'mma smack you with a fish) [/ quote] I think their are some Adam fans who either A. Think all music on radio is crap so Adam shouldent collab with anyone who's knowhere near Adam vocally or 2. Adam shouldent have to compromise his vocals on a track to suit another artist. But in reality collobarating is a relevant part of pop music, and if Adam wants top 40 and he clearly does then collabs are the way to go. The general music consumer dont care for the vocals, its more the level of catchiness and the songs hook, and of course name recognition helps. And considering Adams lack of radio presence, having a Lambert penned song feat Katy Perry can't hurt.

Sorry but this is not the first time. I like Katy but her performance of Firework on UK X Factor last year was excruciating....worse than yesterday. And yet her X factor performance of The One That Got AWay was lovely. It just shows that singers have their limitations......except Adam who sings everything perfectly. I think he makes it look too easy...people don't realise the skill and natural talent involved in getting it right in a way that seems so effortless. But even Adam has those 'off' performances and he is the first to recognize it-the AMA performance and the beginning of 'Ray of Light' during the Diva show come to mind. Nerves and technical issues can help derail a performance. That's the problem with live performances. What makes AFL so great isn't the fact he 'sings everything perfectly' , but that he seldom has those poor performances. KP, on the otherhand, has had a number of 'off' live performances. I'm still a fan, though.

But...Is she worthy? Vocally I guess no, but I am sure thats not the mentality Adam has when working with other artists. He seems to like a range of music, he did collab with Gaga so I can see it happening, Adam and KP are clearly on good terms so wouldent rule it out never happening. Commercially speaking is Adam worthy of Katy haha?

I was bored back in 2009 and decided to turn on the TV to find something to watch. I flipped through the channels and saw that American Idol was on. "Okay, let's see what's going on with this stupid show tonight. Maybe there will be some entertaining train wreck. Whut!! That doesn't look like a typical AI contestant. What country song is this goth guy going to sing?" Adam sang "Ring of Fire" and I went down the rabbit hole. Fate is a strange thing. Frankly, since that night, I have never been the same. Who knew that random channel flipping would bring me to where I am today. Who knew that one random hearing of one unknown singer would turn a key and open some many doors, windows, portals, portholes, etc. I stepped through the looking glass and found people of like minds, learned so many new things, learned how to love without judgement, met so many new people that I consider friends even though I have not met most of them. It's strange. It's kinda weird. But when I read your posts and see your joy, my heart is like a radiant rainbow. I don't understand why or how it happened, but as stupid as it may seem to all the rest of the world, somehow I became a better person. Now that's what I call a hella connection. Somehow, Adam became a connection to we the people of Adamtopia and those like minded people who are Adam fans. He was an explosive catalyst. A commonality. What I am trying to say is, Adam brought us together, but I hope he is not the only thing that keeps us together. Big post hug (((( ))))) here. Love it and your connection.

I listened to the Katy song and I don't get the hate she was getting in the comments. I heard one bum note, everything else was strained perhaps but not by any stretch in my mind was it a disaster.
I do worry about her voice a bit though because I always see her straining. At least in this one I could hear her so she didn't have to push as hard to be heard as at some awards show.
Her concerts look like lots of fun.

For example, look at how he works to make Angie shine in Titanium (from Idol 12 Finale). I also have the impression that many/most Adam fans also love pop music. I have learned to avoid generalizing about Adam fans. He has a very, very diverse fanbase with a range of opinions on everything.

Also I don't see a lot of artists running to want to collab with him and no I don't buy the fact that they feel he might overshadow them either.

My impression of many/most Adam fans in the US is they dislike most pop music. I find they put down a lot of pop artists not named Adam. The ones that do like pop music always wondered how it is that Adam has fans who dislike pop music but follow someone that wants to do pop music. I think if anyone else put out the music Adam makes most of his fans wouldn't buy it. That has been my observation.
