I am puzzled by the comments about Queen fans being negative about Adam. They generally are not. Sure there are some people who are Queen fans who do not like Adam or do not like the way he sings or do not think he is big enough to front Queen. But honestly, this is a very small percentage of Queen fans and seems to be most common on one unofficial Queen forum that really is a Freddie forum. Just like on the Adam forums and fansites, mostly there are posts on the Queen boards about buying tickets and sharing party limos to concerts and so on.
BTW -- why don't Adam fans have these party limos?HaHa - Maybe no party limos because if given a choice of a limo or one more concert - it's one more concert! I did laugh when you mentioned concert binges - pretty great description! And if I could, I would! I can only get to one, but it's their last one, so am hoping for a celebration resembling Nokia GNT. And hoping it's not 90 degrees and raining... HA AHA HAHA AHAHAHAH!! There are going to be like 1,000 limos at the Philly concert. It will look like a New Jersey prom! *** Yes, I admit I am a binger -- I did not watch House of Cards in one day because that would have resulted in divorce. So, I was forced to do a mini-binge of Adam concerts. *** I am most excited that I will finally be getting my "too elite for anyone from Idol" 24 year old son to go to an Adam concert and see/hear him live. It does help that his girlfriend (a casual Adam fan) wanted to go too! My son is a brilliant tenor, not Adam level but is really gifted and has vocal training. But he will know the difference between Adam and other vocalists.

And thank you to you and all the posters here who shared great info on buying tickets. I'm deeply grateful for such a wonderful Adam community.

Thanks for your post Cassie. It is interesting on American Idol right now regarding the judging and their taste in music. Harry Connick, Jr. is telling people that they are consistently singing sharp and pointing out good and bad musical choices. Meanwhile, Keith Urban is telling the contestant it's all about feeling and interpreting the song and technique or pitch really doesn't matter. I'm sure the contestants are puzzled!

Cassie, Thank you so much for that beautiful post re trying to convince others about Adam, or trying to refute the haters' negativity, etc. I can totally understand people's loyalty to Freddie and how n-o-t-h-I-n-g could possibly compare. I feel that way about Adam sometimes, too. Music is a big universe and there is room for everyone. I think that both Adam and Freddie are incomparable. My music world is a big universe and there is room for many musicians. For example, I am a huge Lorde fan. But something about Adam connects with me -- and it is his voice -- and it is just not the same as the way I ever felt about any other singer, actor, musician, songwriter, celebrity. I paid attention to him the minute he spoke, but it hit me when he sang "Mama" -- at 1:00 in this video.... youtu.be/rhD2VKNCZ4AOne thing that made iHR so special for me was that first thing he sang was was "Mama" -- at 1:20 in this video... youtu.be/EZ29wso9e4IAnd now he is going to be singing that LIVE on tour, in the best arenas in the US and Canada with QUEEN. It feels like fate and like a dream to me. I just can't imagine how Adam must feel.

I am from the Philly area but I just do not remember this.

If this was an opinion, I might agree! No one should argue with the meme that Freddie is the greatest Rock singer to ever walk the Earth! However, they are stating a fact wrong. Adam doesn't even play venues under 3K. So, if I were a member there, I would certainly think it'd be OK to set the record straight. Adam sells out most venues he is booked in and the point is wrong. When he is on TOUR he sells out almost everything he is booked in to. But he has not been selling out the recent one-offs. TO PROVE A POINT -- IF I WANTED TO ARGUE THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THIS (and I do not), he did not sell out the last 3 concerts: BeauLIVE (Miami Beach) looked like 700-800 people there (I am being kind with that number) and they sold tickets without rooms locally, or Biloxi Hard Rock (capacity 3,000) or WinStar. Granted these were one-off concerts but they were all promoted, and they are the most recent US concerts, and they did not sell out. He had large crowds at both the San Diego Fairground and Paso Robles but neither sold out. >> It has been a long week so I may be forgetting some recent concerts. My point, this is the kind of discussion that is a "no win" and arguing it will not do Adam any good. ETA: I agree, let Adam's singing tell the story. That and the sales on this tour. ETA 2: Hoppers I still have my GNT concert spreadsheet. I have very little for Trespassing because it was in markets that do not release numbers. PM me if you want a copy. From the online searches I did at the time, the Hard Rock Live only has a capacity of 1,400 to 1,500 and it loojed pretty full. I think you may have meant the Winstar which has a capacity of about 3,500. The one time I counted seats not available a few weeks before the concert there were about 2,200 unavailable.

New Thread is up!
And while I was putting it together I noticed that one of the birthdays from yesterday was Melliemom and I realized that I hadn't noticed any posts from her. I checked and she hasn't been online for a week. I sure hope all is well with her.

Thing is, both Harry and Keith believe what they are saying 100%. Their taste in music differs, as does their definition of what is good and what is desireable, as does their ear for music. I imagine Keith is listening to Harry and thinking, "WTF? I don't hear anything terrible with pitch. I don't care as long as they are connecting to it emotionally, and they make me feel something." Harry is thinking, "Pitch doesn't matter? Are you crazy? It makes my teeth ache! Poor pitch totally ruins the performance!" (I happen to react as Harry does. Off-key singing makes me cringe and get the shakes. I can't listen thru Nate's performance of Somebody to Love. But, as incomprehensible as it is to me, I acknowledge that other folks don't hear anything wrong with the pitch. That can be a blessing.) I guess that sincere difference of opinions is good on the judging panel.

I think our brains are hardwired differently.
