My mom called me today. To thank me. I got her 5th row on the floor to see Adam and Queen., but really she is all about Adam. She was worried that she would be the oldest fan there. She is 74. I told her that I highly doubted it and not to worry because she so young at heart. Tell her not to worry ... I'm 73, I've seen Adam 28 times, I have tickets for 4 Q+AL concerts, and I have never been made to feel out of place. She will find fans of all ages who love anyone who loves Adam ... OMG OMG!!!! JustKaren you're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For that price, my seat better be gold plated, magic elves need to be there to fluff my hair, and Adam/Brian/Roger need to promise to come to my bedroom and seranade me while I sleep..... The last thing I want to be doing when Roger, Adam and Brian are serenading me is to be sleeping!!!!!!!

Just need to share my excitement over the concert tickets I got. Wanted to go to Las Vegas because of the size of the venue, small and intimate (well, smallish.). And since I'm there, need to go to the concert both nights, right? Check. Dallas because it's home. Check. And my biggest dream, Madison Square Garden. Adam/Queen at MSG. OMG . Check!!! Isn't it amazing how we can rationalize the money we spend...I can spend more on Las Vegas and NY because I don't have to fly or get a hotel room in Dallas. It's Adam's fault. Feel like the luckiest Glambert ever. I LOVE my life. Anxious to see and share these experiences with all the fantastic Glamberts I've meet since "Mama" captured all of us. Adam, ILHSFM. Madison Square Garden, here we come WOW! That's awesome!! You are going to have one awesome Summer !!!

You must be KIDDING! I mean I have to explain the multiple concert concept/gratification to non-fans .... but ... but ... FANS????? Only planning for ONE concert??? WTF??? Seems strange ... I was raised differently - here on Atop I am only going to one concert. I picked Madison Square Garden because playing the Garden is the pinnacle IMO. I think this show will get the most attention and could be the show they film for a DVD (if they decided to do that). Queen + Adam Lambert Live from Madison Square Garden has a really nice ring to it! I've done the multi-concert thing, both for Adam and for Kelly Clarkson but those were all within my state and I've never traveled outside my state to see ANYONE in concert to this show will be a first for me on that score. Hi glitter! I'm coming with my son from Finland. Logistically New York is the best for us, only a few thousand km and have to see the legendary Madison Square Garden. I was at Hammersmith 2012 which is the legendary venue for the legendary Queen band!

Here's my philosophy regarding the world's appreciation of Adam or lack thereof. Adam is not for everyone. How could he possibly be universally praised? Look at all the different types of music there are. Different types of performers. Adam has an exceptional voice in terms of technique, tone, resonance, power and range. If you like that sort of thing. Some don't care about it or for it. I don't like the traditional twangy country voice. No argument is going to change my response to it. I have to accept I am not gonna change the minds of those who do not like what I do about his voice. Adam's choice of music styles and genres on his albums and in concert does not appeal to everyone. Some want it to be more rock. Some want it to be more ballads. Some want it to be more Broadway. Some want it to be more opera (yeah, that ain't ever gonna happen, sigh). If Adam is producing a style of music that folks don't care for and don't normally listen to, the fact that he has a phenomenal voice won't make them like it any better. Adam's performance style is not for everyone. Some folks prefer laid back, just a little backing piano or guitar and pure voice. No bells and whistles, no strutting around a stage, no edgy costumes, no lasers, no production numbers, no bombast. Some want a raw and real rock band straight from the garage or the local dive. Those folks are not going to be interested in an Adam concert or a Queen concert. No matter how iconic the band or amazing the vocals. There are folks who have been Queen fans for 40 years. They know every song, every phrase, every note, from every studio recording and every live performance captured on video. Queen songs and performances are tied to their own life events and journeys. Anyone coming in to sing lead and changing ANYTHING may be disturbing. There is no point in arguing whether Adam is as good as or better than Freddie vocally. There is no point in arguing that Brian and Roger love Adam and want to perform with him. I have come to realize there is no point in trying to promote or defend Adam to those who have been exposed to him and just don't care for him. As Adam said, "Let them go buy the other guy's music." I am thrilled that Adam is touring with Queen, and the response has been largely enthusiastic. I am thrilled that I am going to see Adam live again after over three years. I am happy that Adam seems so happy with his life at this point. I enjoy interacting with other Adam fans and sharing our excitement and appreciation. All the rest? Doesn't matter. Don't care. There's plenty of music for everyone. Thank you Cassie ! Great post

ITs like all of a sudden you should just listen to the old standards and nothing else. (nothing against standards but hey its nice to stay current too.) Anyway she is so excited that every time she hears a commercial on the radio she gets giddy. I am so thrilled for her and me since we are both going. The last concert she was at was Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. So its been a while. hahaha. Next year I am 70 Adam has opened a new, BEAUTIFUL sector in my life. I am so happy when I'm listening to him and watching his beautiful face With this 'fandom' method I will live longer

New Thread is up! And while I was putting it together I noticed that one of the birthdays from yesterday was Melliemom and I realized that I hadn't noticed any posts from her. I checked and she hasn't been online for a week. I sure hope all is well with her. Oh, no. This is certainly out of character for her. Thanks for noticing.

Thanks for your post Cassie. It is interesting on American Idol right now regarding the judging and their taste in music. Harry Connick, Jr. is telling people that they are consistently singing sharp and pointing out good and bad musical choices. Meanwhile, Keith Urban is telling the contestant it's all about feeling and interpreting the song and technique or pitch really doesn't matter. I'm sure the contestants are puzzled! Thing is, both Harry and Keith believe what they are saying 100%. Their taste in music differs, as does their definition of what is good and what is desireable, as does their ear for music. I imagine Keith is listening to Harry and thinking, "WTF? I don't hear anything terrible with pitch. I don't care as long as they are connecting to it emotionally, and they make me feel something." Harry is thinking, "Pitch doesn't matter? Are you crazy? It makes my teeth ache! Poor pitch totally ruins the performance!" ( I happen to react as Harry does. Off-key singing makes me cringe and get the shakes. I can't listen thru Nate's performance of Somebody to Love. But, as incomprehensible as it is to me, I acknowledge that other folks don't hear anything wrong with the pitch. That can be a blessing.) I guess that sincere difference of opinions is good on the judging panel. Yup! At least when Adam his a note slightly out of tune, it's still gorgeous tone and not shouty.
