Real quick note. Queen fans are strange creatures. I tried to explain it before. Let's say Adam had a full fledged band. Adam was the focus but it was all the same band. Adam tragically dies young after about 10-15 albums. Fast forward and now a young guy from tv decides to front Adam's band, singing Adam's music.
THEN a bunch of people fall in love with this new guy and start going over to Adamtopia and talk about how great this new guy is, posting video after video trying to convince you that this guy is great....and maybe even as good as Adam.
I would bet a lot of Adam fans might not be too happy about the situation.
BUT regardless. I'm a Queen fan and I come to Adamtopia because it is nice to be at a place that is 99% genuinely excited about these gigs. Whereas on Queen sites it's about 50/50 with a very vocal opposition at times. These very vocal oppositions aren't quite as much as you think but they are the loudest and can drown out the good at times....
As far as multiple concerts. This is the first time on my own that I've gone to multiple concerts of a band. (I say on my own because for awhile in the late 1980s early 1990s my father has a few seats in a box at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany (now the Times Union Center) so I did get to go to a few Billy Joel shows on his Storm Front tour

My mom called me today. To thank me. I got her 5th row on the floor to see Adam and Queen., but really she is all about Adam. She was worried that she would be the oldest fan there. She is 74. I told her that I highly doubted it and not to worry because she so young at heart. What is it that makes people think that just because we age we can't enjoy music. ITs like all of a sudden you should just listen to the old standards and nothing else. (nothing against standards but hey its nice to stay current too.) Anyway she is so excited that every time she hears a commercial on the radio she gets giddy. I am so thrilled for her and me since we are both going. The last concert she was at was Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. So its been a while. hahaha. My mother was 83 when she saw Queenbert with us at the Apollo. She had been a Queen fan when younger than I am now. She honestly didn't seem to be out of place at all. She loved it and the audience covered the full age spectrum....her grandchildren were there too.

Junkets, I loved your previous post, the one about punk cred, right, and I love this one. So, yay to your rambling late-night posts:) I have learned to be accepting of other's tastes and opinions, too. Wait, that's such a lie. I accept them unless they're stupid:)))))Aw! Thank you, Aleks! (Mentally insert that wiggly-arms big-hugs smilie here cuz I don't know how to do it on my phone) And lol about your last line. I can sooo relate!

Just a couple of comments about all the exciting news of late.
First of all - on the age thing - I'm a 77-year-old grandma, and this will be the 7th & 8th times seeing Adam - age doesn't make any difference at these concerts - although I have some hearing loss and now have some arthritis in my knees, in my heart & mind & spirit, I'm still as young as I ever was, and I think I may speak for a lot of us older fans here. Well, maybe some adjustments - I've done GA but now prefer to opt for actual seating - and because of my hearing loss I prefer not to be too close to the speakers which may blast out what little hearing I have left. Other than that - I'm ready to go!
One thing about my hearing loss - for some reason Adam's voice is so clear and powerful with that bell-like tone (I call it an "angel voice") that his voice soars over all other sounds and comes in clear and pure for me. That is utter magic for me!
Queen/Adam will be a full circle thing for me. I saw Queen when Freddie was in his prime - best concert I had ever been to at the time. Now I will be going to Queen/Adam in San Jose with my grandson and his girlfriend, and I will be going to the Forum in LA with my LA son who is also an Adam fan & a Queen fan. My LA son and I have been waiting and hoping for this to happen.
Secondly, in response to Talon's comments. I have also been a big Doors fan in the past, and I agree with the poster who said that the Doors without Jim Morrison is just not the same - I can't even envision that. So I can understand the feelings of die-hard Queen fans - that the Queen of the past can never be replicated exactly. But now we have Queen with Adam which to me is a new and exciting thing especially with what I heard at the iHeart festival, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming events.

I told her that I highly doubted it and not to worry because she so young at heart. Tell her not to worry ... I'm 73, I've seen Adam 28 times, I have tickets for 4 Q+AL concerts, and I have never been made to feel out of place. She will find fans of all ages who love anyone who loves Adam ... Thanks so much to all of you who posted about my mom's needless age angst. I told her about some of your responses and she was relieved/thrilled. And Just Karen: 28 times!!! Holy crap is that a record?? Who here has seen Adam the most, I wonder??? Where were these concerts, was it the Glam nation tour?? I am just so happy that he is coming to Edmonton. Never thought that would happen this soon.
