I found this interesting little article at psmag.com yesterday while strolling through the internet; how Sweden became the pop music mecca. No Adam mention but it certainly supports Adam's choice to go to Stockholm. Swedish Pop Mafia
BY WHET MOSER • March 24, 2014 • 6:00 AM How a culturally conservative effort in the 1940s backfired to create the greatest engine of pop music in the world. www.psmag.com/navigation/books-and-culture/swedish-pop-mafia-music-world-influence-73966/What a testament to widely spread affordable quality education! Thank you, Linda! I was wondering as to why Sweden of all places became such a source of musical talent, I even thought the lack of daylight was the cause (kids are stuck indoors, listening and playing music), but now it is quite clear!

From Talon: It still amazes me that the band is so diverse they could have Metallica and Liza Minelli on the same bill :D
***** That statement makes me wonder how QAL can even begin to figure out which songs to do. I really hope they go from one extreme to the other, because there are lots of "required" songs which fall in the middle. If they do, it will be a "You can't please everyone" sort of thing. The comment about Queen being years ahead of the times makes me understand why Brian and Roger have no interest in performing with an imitator. They may not be interested in just remembering and singing the old tunes, but still have some new, experimental stuff up their sleeves. And who better than Adam to team up with!? When I say that, I'm not implying they will continue after the tour to work together (would need an Adam clone!). But in changing up arrangements of the songs they choose for the tour, I would guess we'll at least see a new twist here or there. Am loving all the great information and clips. Thanks Talon and Q3. </img>

some of those lyric fails are so beyond ridiculous they must be a joke within a joke.
I admit to getting that lyric wrong in Bohemian Rhapsody though
10. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Real lyric: ''Spare him his life from this monstrosity'' Misheard lyric: ''Spare him his life for his one atrocity"

Thanks Talon and Q3. </img> I have no idea how they choose which songs to do. But I have spent a bit of time re-exploring their catalog and their deep album cuts are better than most bands top hits. And some of the music was so far ahead of the time that it sounds better now than it did when it was released. (The Larry Lurex tracks being one glaring exception -- can't get more throwback that that. They are just not good! Thankfully, Freddie had the sense even in 1973 to use a pseudonym for them). SCC was one of there best live numbers in 1974 -- and I think would be great live in 2012. Queen did it without the darkness of the Metallica version, but with no lack of energy and speed and passion. And truly Adam could shine on that song. We do not have much metal from Adam -- Black Dog (Zodiac Club), WWL (post-Idol), Enter Sandman (GNT New Zealand -- all incorporate homo-erotic elements and really are in a different space. >> For metal fans, I guess it is OK for Roger Daltrey (Ledd Zeppelin) to do a 2 minute orgasmic improv cause he is straight. Then we have the Idol TV WLL which is so short and tame that it really does not reflect what he can really do. >> For metal fans, I guess the fact that Ledd Zeppelin personally approved the use of WLL on Idol for Adam does not matter either. There are glimmers of what Adam can do in The Citizen Vein performance at The Knitting Factory. Just to demonstrate my point... This short video starts with Monte talking -- just FF to 0:38 for the Adam clips. youtu.be/QDzjEpA9JuoAnd here is a video of The Citizen Vein playing 2 songs (Chalice, Nocturnal) at the Knitting Factory from April 17, 2007: youtu.be/rqhbesTbcfAThat was 7 years ago -- Adam has gotten so much better since than -- I can only imagine! *** Every now and then there are posts asking for clips of Adam to send to rock fans who are skeptical about Adam. I usually do not engage in trying to explain how good Adam is. But in chatting last night with a major Queen fan (not Talon!) who was very skeptical of Adam but who I have known since the 70's and who I really wanted to make sure saw this show, I responded with the Citizen Vein videos. He responded by sending me a copy of his receipt for 4 Ultimate Tickets to see Queen + Adam Lambert. Adam has many legit reasons for distancing himself from these early songs and performances, and all the associated bastards, but it is what we have. And it worked for me. *** Now that my friend has his tickets, should I send him that "Enter Sandman" cover?

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Real lyric: ''Spare him his life from this monstrosity'' Misheard lyric: ''Spare him his life for his one atrocity"I make that exact error. But I do not get the "cup of tea" one!! Maybe because I am not British. *** I've paid my dues Time after time. I've done my sentence But committed no crime. And bad mistakes ‒ I've made a few. I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through. I used to sing that bold part "I've had my share of <mumble mumble alalalal> But I've always come through" because I couldn't stuff all those words in the first line and there is a missing beat on the next line. The last line still drive me crazy!! *** Elton John's... "Hold me closer Tiny Dancer"
Substitute "Hold me closer Tony Danza"*** Billy Joel's song "You May Be Right": Real lyrics : You maybe right, I maybe crazy.
Fail lyrics: You make the rice, I'll make the gravy.*** Byron Adams "Summer of '69": Real lyrics: I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
It was the summer of '69
Fail lyrics: I got my first real sex dream
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it 'til my fingers bled
It was the summer of '69
