iTunes
Lay Me Down (AVICII) with Adam Lambert on vocals #81 Sweden #287 Germany #331 Egypt #392 Portugal
It has been in the 300's in Egypt for a while. But it recently moved back onto the Top 400 in Sweden (now at #87). It may be because of the press in Sweden about Adam working on his album in Sweden.
This is a minor iTunes track for AVICII based on sales right now -- there are 7 other tracks from TRUE that are outselling it globally right now but it is now #4 in Sweden -- only behind the 3 promoted singles.
Sweden usually leads the world for AVICII music.

Can anyone tell me why LMD move up in Sweden? Is that Lipton commercial running there?
ETA: Must be because the remix was released and sucks. So people bought the first version. (The LMD remix has no Nile funk and Adam is chipmunked. It is a "big room" edit for clubs.)
I thought it might be the Max Martin-Adam press.
Here's where it is now...
Lay Me Down #94 Sweden #280 German #331 Egypt #396 Portugal
Looks like something pushed it up a bit and it is now going to drop again. ??
ETA: Looking at the AVICII numbers on iTunes and they are fascinating. He is #1 in the world but not in the US -- Pharrell is #1 in the US, Shakira is on his heels. Same for radio -- AVICII is really strong in the US but not in the Top 10 Parrell is the current king. Surprisingly strong for an album that was released September 13, 2013.

Other things going on today, but some of the old interviews, articles brought back a thought I've had for a while. At any time have we had a indicator as to why Adam did not go to NYC for his career in musicals? It seems illogical to me that if you want to sing on Broadway, you don't go to Broadway. I'm sure his reasons are varied and multi-colored but just curious as to what he thought his trajectory would be staying in LA. Perhaps an independent career was on his mind even before Burning Man epiphany, but that one makes the best story? Anyone remember anything else?

If I remember correctly, I think he felt at the time that the East Coast was just too far away from his family and everyone he knew. Remember, he was just 19 when he left home to be on his own. LA is close enough to San Diego that Mom and Dad aren't going to check up on you, but close enough to go home if things go wrong. New York is VERY far away, particularly if you don't have much money or know anyone on that side of the country.

Well, that Lipton commercial and the Max Martin - Adam press occurred to me as well. I don't know about the commercial. But I don't think many ppl would make connection between MM-Adam press and LMD. I'm not sure if the listeners even realize Adam as the singer of LMD.

That is a very good point, but haven't we heard that his Mother's family lives in New Jersey. Now I know to a New Yorker that is far away but... I think one point you made "he was just 19" is a tell. Had to be a scary time in his life with so many changes in his own and others perception of himself. It is less than a 100 miles between LA and Encinitas after all!
