I am pretty sure that this is not exactly what Adam means. Just my impression -- but I think he is using a more contemporary definition of the term. "Postmodern music is a genre of music characterized by a disregard for formal rules and an emphasis on creativity." That is different than music from the post-modern period (as listed above). I have to agree. The article goes on to state Postmodern music is not a distinct musical style, but rather refers to music of the postmodern era. The terms "postmodern", "postmodernism", "postmodernist", and "postmodernity" are exasperating terms (Bertens 1995, 3). Indeed, postmodernists question the tight definitions and categories of academic disciplines, which they regard simply as the remnants of modernity (Rosenau 1992, 6–7). With that definition or explanation Adam could mean anything! I think he can mean anything EXCEPT putting out an album with a bunch of formulaic, generic pop songs. I am very happy about the bit he told us. Genre is irrelevant, sonically diverse, honest and post-modern. I really like that. New thread is up.

Thats just a rough estimate, i think i got some songs left out. As for Adams tweets when ppl post stuff like that on YT, is they wish he was straight as he would find it easier success wise, just an observation.

I just had a brainwave re Adam's most post modern performance: Ring of Fire. Song by one of the most revered icons of country music, sung on Country week of a reality singing contest by a young gay musical theatre singer, in middle eastern style, dressed in classic Rock attire, wearing make-up and nail polish. You don't get much more post modern than that hahaha...

Will be around somewhere but can't be bothered looking right now.

I studied a bit of postmodern philosophy, and what it basically means in philosophy is the impossibility of the notion of an objective reality. There have been many philosophers that thought about how to know anything that is objective, since our outlook on the world is always subjective. They stated that we always see the truth, reality, or anything through the lens of our perception, our convictions etc. The postmodernists just said that it isn't useful or possible to speak about about such notions as objective truth, because it doesn't exist. Pretty sure that is not what Adam meant. I am going with the definition of 'postmodernism as 'doing away with preconceived notions'
